Eight letters, 1858 [?1859]-74, from Tho[ma]s Stephens, Merthyr Tydfil, seven of which are addressed to D. Silvan Evans and one to W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth (copy). Accompanying one of the letters to D. Silvan Evans are transcripts of four letters, 1846-9, from the Reverend Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'), writing from Penmaen Dovey n[ea]r Machynlleth and Llanrhaiadr, Oswestry, to Thomas Stephens ('Casnodyn'). Subjects touched upon include D. Silvan Evans's orthography [i.e. Llythyraeth yr iaith Gymraeg], the 'Madogwys', the Llangollen essay, the (new) bishop of Bangor, the Hengwrt manuscripts and articles for Archaeologia Cambrensis.

A group of ten notebooks in the hand of D. Silvan Evans, mainly either relating to his contributions to Encyclopaedia Cambrensis. List of Articles Contributed', 1853-6; 'Chwanegion at y Gwyddoniadur' (with 'Gee's Statement, 1854, and a receipt from D. S.
