(a) A copy of a diary or journal for 1786, with manuscript entries (including English and Welsh verse, etc.) by Iolo Morganwg. At the beginning is 'A Song in praise of Glamorgan' attributed to Sir John Stradling of St Donats; 'From a MS of the late Wm Roberts of Lancarvan, who told me that he had it from one Mr Bassett of Bonvilston, Grandfather of the present Mr Bassett'. (b) Part of another diary, year not given.

Notebooks together with financial and other papers of Iolo Morganwg, including notebooks containing memoranda, lists of books, accounts and notes, 1781-1802 (E7/1-5); unbound booklets containing mostly extracts from various printed sources, [?1810s] (E7/6-9); a bundle of small notebooks containing memoranda, diaries and manuscript 'almanacks', 1802-1817 (E7/10-16); three booklets, seemingly parts of one disbound volume, containing miscellaneous pencil notes (E7/17); a notebook showing diagrams of [?Neolithic circles], monumental inscriptions and notes on Welsh poets, [?1790s] (E7/18); drawings of monumental inscriptions by Iolo, mostly from Glamorgan churches, together with some notes (E7/19); an incomplete draft letter from Iolo to 'Nancy', 19 September 1826 (E7/20); a single leaf containing aphorisms attributed to Taliesin (E7/21); bills, receipts and other miscellaneous financial and related papers of Iolo Morganwg, 1782-1826 (E7/22); and financial papers of Iolo's maternal grandfather Edward Matthew, Llangrallo, including tax receipts and accounts, 1705-1736 (E7/23) and of Iolo's parents, 1740-1749 (E7/24).

Travel journals and agricultural notes (IAW 144)

Twenty-eight notebooks and bundles, 1796-1815, consisting of travel journals and agricultural notes relating mainly to Iolo Morganwg's work for the Board of Agriculture in Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire in 1796 and his contribution to Gwallter Mechain's General View of the Agriculture and Domestic Economy of South Wales (London, 1815).
Also included are fragments of tours in parts of England (E5/13); a journal of his tour to North Wales in 1799, collecting materials for the Myvyrian Archaiology (E5/18, formerly 'IAW 144'); bundles of loose agricultural notes (E5/26-27); and geological notes relating to Glamorgan (E5/28).
