1959 and 1967 Deposits

Correspondence of Lord Rendel. Unless otherwise stated the letters in this section are addressed to Lord Rendel. The collection also includes holograph letters and copies written by Rendel himself to various correspondents. There are also items relating to the correspondence of Lady Rendel and other members of the family and a few miscellaneous letters which passed between other persons.

Frances Stevenson Papers

The group consists of papers acquired and preserved mainly by Frances, comprising correspondence, 1915-1972, subject files, 1933-1975, business papers, 1940-1972, notebooks of reminiscences, [1920s-1960s], and miscellaneous printed items.

Stevenson-Longford Family Papers

The unit consists of letters and papers relating to various members of the Stevenson family, including Frances's sister Muriel, 1923-1962, and her brother Paul, 1910-1915, together with research notes and materials assembled by Ruth Longford.

Administrative Records

The group consists of correspondence, press releases, circulars, press cuttings, office diaries and other papers, 1977-1996, deriving from the general administration of the Labour Party Wales; a series of Welsh constituency files, 1985, 1989-1991, relating to the selection of Labour Party parliamentary candidates; and various records, 1949-1993, concerning the Cardiff City Labour Party, Divisional Labour Parties and ward groups within the City of Cardiff.

The group comprises files on an array of subjects relevant to the activities of the Labour Party Wales, 1931-1996, including the Welsh language, 1965, 1988-1997; devolution, 1978, 1994-1999; local government funding, 1981-1983; the work of the Poll Tax Working Group, 1987-1990; the work of the Boundary Commission for Wales, 1983-1996; CND Wales, 1985-1988; the policy document The Future of Local Government in Wales, 1986-1989; the Education Working Group of the Labour Party, 1987-1988; the Welsh Language Working Party, 1989-1991; women's issues, 1990-1997; the National Health Service, 1991-1997; and parliamentary boundary reform, 1993-1994.
