Lines written by W. W., Sunday April 9, 1797, 'Sitting on a Bench in Penrhyn wood above Ogwen'. Copy of 'Canu moliant i Lywelyn ab Gruffudd - Dafydd Benfras ai Cant'.

A copy of 'Canu moliant i Lywelyn ab Gruffudd - Dafydd Benfras ai Cant', beginning, 'Colofn nef dy nerth a archaf ... A dewred yr undyn dewraf'. A note written by Iolo Morganwg above the title states 'Llaw Deio o'r Nincil'. On the reverse side in a different hand is a copy of a poem by Rhisierdyn, 'I ferch' beginning 'uniawn bill hirddawn o ball harddedd', followed by 'englynion' (crossed out) in the autograph of Iolo Morganwg, two of them attributed to Iorwerth Fynglwyd. The poem by Rhisierdyn appears to have been transcribed from the 'Liber B' of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd [i.e. NLW MS 4973] ff. 261b-262. The poem by Dafydd Benfras is to be found on f. 14 of the same manuscript (The reference given here is to page 14).
