A three masted schooner with a pilot boat in attendance heading for port. The landscape beyond is suggestive of Britain rather than any of the other ports of call on Lloyd George's trip to Brazil.

Pinned to his chest is a seven pointed star surmounted by a crown, reminiscent of the Imperial Service Order. Below this are six good conduct stripes. Behind him on his right hand side is a middle-aged Sergeant in the Pembroke Yeomanry. On the postman's left is a younger man serving in the Welsh Regiment.
