Correspondence,

Letters sent to Gillian Clarke, together with a number of draft letters and replies by her. They mainly consist of personal letters and those which pertain to her literary career, and include various poets and writers among the correspondents. In addition, some letters relate to poetry workshops and The Anglo-Welsh Review; poems are occasionally enclosed with letters.

Papers, 1968-[1999] (with gaps), mostly manuscript drafts and typescript copies, some drafts, of various prose works by Gillian Clarke, including English translations of Tegwch y bore by Kate Roberts; and articles for the Radio Times.

Radio broadcasts,

Papers, 1975-1999 (with gaps), relating to radio and television programmes, most of which were written and read by Gillian Clarke. They comprise scripts, including drafts, together with related correspondence and notes.

The Anglo-Welsh Review,

Papers, 1907-1984, pertaining to The Anglo-Welsh Review, including typescript copies and galleys of editorials; and correspondence, mainly regarding financial support and material for the journal, together with letters from the previous editor, Roland Mathias, and the reviews editors, John Davies and Greg Hill. In addition, the series contains a photocopy of a typescript index to Dock Leaves.

Trust Papers,

Papers, 1965, 1972 and 1983-1998, mostly correspondence and financial records, relating to The Taliesin Trust and the establishment of Tŷ Newydd, and the Frances Horovitz Memorial Trust.

Welsh Arts Council,

The file mainly comprises papers, 1972-1977 and [1979]-1984, pertaining to the Welsh Arts Council, mostly reports by Gillian Clarke of books for the Welsh Arts Council Literature Committee, together with reviews of books for various journals. Included are letters from John Rowlands, Tony Bianchi (2), Nigel Jenkins, and Peter Miles (4). In addition, the file contains manuscript and typescript notes, 1979-1980, which appear to be radio talks; and a report on the fourteenth Yeats International Summer School, 1973.

Workshops, readings etc,

Papers, 1972-1999 (with gaps), mainly comprising correspondence relating to, and poems composed during, various writing courses and workshops which Gillian Clarke tutored, organised or attended as guest reader.
