The file contains correspondence and papers, 1980-1983, relating to national and international junior chess tournaments including the E.C.I. Tournament; the Bagneux International Under 15 tournament; the World U20; World U16; The Gasunie Tournament; the Glorney and Faber Cups; the Ladies World U20; the World Junior Chess Championships; the European Junior Chess Championship; the Welsh Seconary Schools Chess Knock-Out Cup; the Youth Team Championships; and some regional Welsh junior tournaments.
The file also contains some minutes of W.C.U. Junior Committee meetings, reports, and junior grading lists.

The file consists of correspondence and papers relating to international chess tournaments, 1982-1986, including the British Championships; the Commonwealth Championships; the Dutch Open Chess Championship; the International Zone 1 Tournament; the European Team Championships; Lucerne Chess Olympiads; the World Chess Team Championships; the Mens' and Ladies' Chess Olympiads; the Wales v Ireland match; the European Clubs Cup; the Twinning Chess Competition; and the World Youth Team Championship. The file also contains some minutes of the W.C.U.International Committee (1985).

Agenda and meeting documents

The file comprises an agenda and supporting papers for the Welsh Affairs Committee meeting on 18 December 2001 where officials of the Children's Society; Ian Sparks (Chief Executive), Lady Toulson (Chair of the Trustees), Mr Charles Nall (Director of Finance and Administration) and the Revd. Glover (Church in Wales nominee to the Board of Trustees) were questioned about the decision to close the society's operations in Wales.

Opus 29: String Quartet No.2 (annotated)

Facsimile copy of ink score, with annotations in ink, dated 1968 and titled Opus 29: 'String Quartet No.2'. The score was commissioned by the Guild for the Promotion of Welsh Music for the Swansea Festival, 1968, and includes parts for violins 1 and 2, viola, and cello.

Opus 54: Carillons for Harp (originals)

Ink score, dated August 1985, titled Opus 54: 'Carillons for Harp (originals)'. The work was commissioned by the North Wales Music Festival in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and was first performed by Caryl Thomas at St. Asaph Cathedral on 25 September 1985. The piece is dedicated to Yvonne and William Mathias.

Opus 57: Antiphons for Cello and Piano: Meditations on the Antiphons for the Blessed Virgin Mary

Ink score, dated 1987, and titled Opus 57: 'Antiphons for Cello and Piano: Meditations on the Antiphons for the Blessed Virgin Mary'. Originally commissioned by the Lower Machen Festival in association with the Welsh Arts Council. Written as one of a sequence of three works celebrating devotion to the Virgin Mary which include his Opus 56 (4/8) and Opus 58 (4/9 and 4/10).

Opus 65: Gitanjali Song Offerings: Six Poems of Rabindranath Tagore for Soprano & Chamber Orchestra

Pencil score in five parts, [1995], titled Opus 65: 'Gitanjali Song Offerings: Six Poems of Rabindranath Tagore for Soprano & Chamber Orchestra'. Commissioned for the Llantilio Crossenny 31st Festival of Music and Drama in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and performed at the Festival by the Llantilio Festival Orchestra in June 1993 conducted by Charles Farncombe. The file also contains a programme for the Festival, 1993.

Opus 37: Overture: The Three Men (original)

Ink score, dated 1974, and titled Opus 37: 'Overture: The Three Men'. Includes parts for flutes, oboes, clarinets, cornets, trumpets, trombones, bass trombone, timpani, percussion, violins 1 and 2, viola, violoncello, cello, and bass. The work was originally commissioned for the Llandaff Festival, 1974, with assistance from the Welsh Arts Council.
