Correspondents include Arthur Chater, Iorwerth Peate, 1967, about a prehistoric ox horn, and H. R. H. Vaughan, 1969, reporting action by CPRW for the removal of an unsightly footbridge at Llandovery.

The file comprises draft and printed articles, notes, species lists, survey sheets, radio and television scripts, questionnaires, press cuttings, maps and correspondence relating to wildlife in general and British mammals, particularly badgers, bats, dormice, otters, polecats and pine martens, rabbits and hares, seals and squirrels. Seventeen letters, 1943-1980, mostly in Welsh, to Glyn Evans (or Ifans), Tregaron, mainly concerned with matters of literary interest. The majority date from the period of Evans's war service as an RAF wireless operator in Ceylon.

The letters relate mainly to John Cowper Powys's work, the Welsh language and culture, and personal matters.

Thomas who stood unsuccessfully as a Labour Party candidate for the Monmouth constituency in the 1950 general election, before spending some years working as a civil servant in the Sudan and Kenya. The file consists of two bundles of notes on cards for the counties of Flintshire and Cardiganshire, concerning archaeology, history, architecture, features of interest, tourist attractions, place names, industries, bibliographic and literary references, occasionally illustrated by sketches or maps, accompanied by newspaper and magazine articles and relevant correspondence, including a letter and postcard from Arthur [Chater], 1967, 1972, on points of local history in Cardiganshire, Iorwerth Peate, 1952, regarding a find of ancient arrowheads, and Melville Richards, 1969, concerning the nomenclature of Pumlumon (Plynlimon).

Papers of Ffransis G.
