Edwards, 1929-1970, and carbon copies of letters sent by him, 1945-1969, concerning politics, literature, and the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, including letters to and from political figures in the Labour Party and Plaid Cymru, and Welsh literary figures; pocket diaries, 1929-1968; minute books of the North Wales Labour Federation, 1923-1930; reports and memoranda concerning the activities of the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, political life in North Wales, and the activities of TWW, 1935-1966; press cuttings relating to Edwards' political career and the activities of the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, 1930-1968; illuminated addresses and distinctions presented to him, 1933-1969; miscellaneous printed items, 1912-1967; poems by him, 1950-1958; and other personal papers, 1926-1967; and acquired papers, notably letters from Sir Owen M. The catalogued portion of the archive contains records of the family of Owen, later Humphreys-Owen, of Glansevern, and Johnes of Garthmyl, mainly comprising title deeds and documents, [late 12 cent.]-1929, mainly relating to property in Montgomeryshire; estate papers, 1767-1924, including rentals, accounts and surveys; records relating to Campobello island, New Brunswick, Canada, 1767-1902; substantial family correspondence, 1633-1926, political correspondence of Arthur Charles Humphreys-Owen, 1856-1905, including letters from Lord Rendel; naval papers of Captain William Owen, 1746-1778, [c. 1797]. The uncatalogued part of the archive includes correspondence of the Owen and Humphreys-Owen families, 1754-1905; pedigree of the Owen family, 1839; and material relating to S. P. F. Humphreys Owen, [c. mid 20 cent].

The group consists of material relating to Communist Party election campaigns in Britain, but mainly in Wales, including election manifestos, 1964-1987, elections results, 1945-1995, files relating to election campaign arrangements, 1934-1987, electoral reform, 1964-1996, general election leaflets, 1935-1989, and local election leaflets, 1946-1992.

The fonds comprises letters, 1928-1999, to Lady White, diaries, 1936-1984, papers, 1907-1994, reflecting her career as a Labour politician, papers, 1859-1994, concerning her outside interests and activities, records, 1950-1996, deriving from Lady White's involvement in Welsh political and public life, and material, 1960-1990, concerning her activities in educational matters. There are also family papers, 1892-1992, including some relating to Lady White's father Dr Thomas Jones CH (1870-1955) and to her husband John Cameron White (1911-1968). There is also a substantial group of press cuttings and other printed material, 1919-1997. A further two boxes of papers were received in January 2007; this group remains uncatalogued.

Papers relating to the life and career of Edward Morgan Humphreys, including letters to E. Morgan Humphreys, from several prominent Welsh figures, 1900x1955, relating to professional matters, such as his articles and contributions to newspapers, requests for articles, radio talks, addresses, literary works, public appointments, his involvement with the eisteddfod and various committees; together with some letters relating to personal affairs, politics and literary matters and letters written to him in his role as an editor; miscellaneous and family ('Dyffryn') correspondence, which are mostly letters of the families of E. Morgan Humphreys' great-grandfather, the Rev Richard Humphreys, and of his grandfather, the Rev Edward Morgan, [1800]x1953; articles, radio scripts and addresses by E. Morgan Humphreys, 1902x1955; together with some personal and family papers, 1841x1955; articles, poetry, adjudications and letters to the editor of Y Genedl etc., by T. Gwynn Jones, 1890x1949; and other miscellaneous papers accumulated by E. Morgan Humphreys, [1762]x1955. Some of the family correspondence was published in 'Some Nineteenth Century Letters', in The Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, 1925-1926.

Twenty six letters, 1922-1937, from D. J. Williams, Fishguard, to Flora Forster. They relate mainly to their personal relationship, but also contain references to his imprisonment, 1937 (ff. 48-9), George M. Ll. Davies (ff. 29 verso-30, 41), the 1922 parliamentary election (ff. 1-3), Saunders Lewis (f. 14 verso), and Welsh nationalism (ff. 45-8).
