It would add much to the obligation if the addressee could inform him where his father saw the original MS of Sir E. Mansel, or whence he (EW) obtained the copy he has made. Regrets to say that he has been able to find but very few historical facts connected with the castles in this county except Caerphilly and Cardiff. The cause of the leaning of the tower at Caerphilly seems to him very doubtful.

Mr Williams of the Strand says he thinks that if EW were to write a few lines the Society of Literary Funds would be happy to show a token of respect to him. The writer has requested EW to lend him his copy of Achau'r Saint. Mr Williams of the Strand thinks he (J. H.) might do well to print it with the Triads. He has lately resumed his Horae Britannicae and hopes to finish his transcribing of it in a month or two. If the addressee could communicate anything about the antiquities of Lantwit, Lancarvan, or Landaff besides what he gave Williams for his Monmouthshire he (JH) would be exceedingly obliged. Poor Townley, who is still at Stockport, would also greatly thank EW for the Peithynen he (EW) had prepared for him and any communications respecting Welsh Bibles. As the writer's friends have dubbed him Bard of Brecon and he does not like nick- names he thinks sometime of publishing a Tom Thumb book of verses that they may no longer plague him for copies. When his History comes out, there will be strange thoughts about it. He is a true Silurian and cannot bear the conceitedness of many of the Northwalians. Some queries. He would be much obliged for any hints respecting the Triads. Will the addressee lend once more his Achau y Saint?
