Great Exhibition Almanack .... 1851, used by Thomas Owens, mariner, of Bryngwallter, Penbryn, Cardiganshire, to record entries concerning his voyages; extracts from the log of the SS Great Britain on voyages from Melbourne to Liverpool (inverted text ff. 29 verso-31, 54 verso-6); transcripts of carols and other verse, including 'Hanes ail fordaith y Brig Albion i'r America' (ff. 2-16; see also NLW MSS 9383A, 21965A); and miscellaneous notes and accounts.

A fragment (six folios) of the 'chanson degeste' known as 'Les Enfances Vivien' and a fragment (four folios) containing lives of saints in English verse, including portions of the lives of 'Seyn Jokes', 'Seyn Beryn', 'Seit Athelwalde ye byschope', and 'Seint Patryke.'

Inset at the end of the volume are transcripts of Montgomeryshire pedigrees, etc. Much of the material in the volume has been transcribed from other volumes now in the Cwrtmawr Collection (e.g. MSS 200, 222, 242 and 243) and there are references to such sources as 'un o lyfrau Maesglas Mallwyd' (transcribed in 1857) (p. 269), a manuscript in the hand of Robert Arthur (p. 342), 'Llyfr ym meddiant Lowri Jones' (p. 380), etc. A note pasted on the inside of the upper cover states 'This Vol. was copied by Owen Jones (brother of Myrddin Fardd) from a MS Vol. ... in the handwriting of Lewis Morris [Cwrtmawr MS 200] now at Bryntanad, Llanerfyl Montgomerys[hire] (Richards) E. Breese'. Owen Jones was for a short time a private tutor at BrynTanad (see The Dictionary of Welsh Biography). The spine is lettered 'Mannoethwy MSS'.

A volume, 1809-1810, written by Joseph Meredith of the town of Carmarthen containing mainly arithmetical exercises, verses, and other memoranda including an account of the collection of money made among the workers at the Tinworks, Carmarthen, on behalf of the widow of a deceased forgeman, together with a copy of her petition, 1809 (ff. 79v-80v); inserted in the volume are two printed accounts, State of the Sunday Schools, near the Parade, Carmarthen ..., 1809 and 1810, with lists of the subscribers (ff. 77-8v). An imperfect volume containing transcripts of miscellaneous Welsh and two English poems. The Welsh poems include free- metre verse by Henry Humphreys (Llansilin), John Williams (o Ddymbych), John Cain alias Siôn Ceiriog, Ellis Roberts (o Landdoged), Thomas Edwards ( o'r Nant), David Thomas ['Dafydd Ddu Eryri'] (o sir Gaernarfon), Jonathan Hughes (Pengwern, Llangollen), Walter Davies, Will[ia]m Jones (Llannerchrigog), Daniel Owens (Llannerchrigog), and Humphrey Jones; and 'englymon' by D[avid] Thomas ['Dafydd Ddu Eryri'] and Rob[er]t Williams ['Robert ap Gwilym Ddu'] (Bettws Fawr). The titles include 'Cerdd I annerch Mr. Edward Bennion, Meddyg a Physygwr', 'Pennill a wnaid i Rich[ar]d Midllton Iengaf o Gastell y Wain dyfod i Dref Dinbech, Medi 9, 1776', and 'Cerdd o fawl I Gwn Hela Perchedig Esqr. Mytton o'r Garth'. There is a table of contents at the beginning of the volume (p. i), and this indicates that the 'englynion' by David Thomas and Robert Williams are later insertions.
