An elegy ('Galareb') on the death of Hugh Jones ('Erfyl') on 25 May 1858, by 'Cyfaill Galarus', together with appropriate tombstone inscriptions submitted to John Owen ('Owain Alaw'), including the 'englyn' by W. Lloyd, solicitor, Ruthin, which appeared on 'Erfyl's tombstone at Llanerfyl.

A volume relating to William Jones (ca. 1825-93), Clwt-y-bont, parish of Llanddeiniolen, co. Caernarfon, compiled, 1893, by his son Griffith Williams Jones (d. 1924), Lewisham, London, with an index of contents (f. 100 verso). It comprises transcripts of letters of condolence on the death of William Jones addressed to various members of the family, many of them from Calvinistic Methodist ministers, and of englynion in his memory by 'Dewi Arfon' and 'Eifionydd'; and press cuttings of obituaries. Iems, 1923-69, relating to Griffith Williams Jones and to Lewisham Welsh Presbyterian church, of which he was a founder member, have been added on ff. 91 verso-3.

'Galarnad ar farwolaeth W. O. Pughe, Yswn., D.C.L., F.A.S.', being an elegy (206 lines) on the death of W[illiam] O[wen] Pughe [lexicographer, antiquary, and poet] by 'Ywain Cyfeiliog'. The present copy was folded and sent by post to R. Saunderson, junior, Bala, with the ? author's proper name 'Griffith W. Edwards, G. ab Gwilym Padarn, Llanrug near Carnarv[on]' inscribed under seal in the bottom right-hand corner of p. 4. This suggests that the poem was forwarded to be submitted for competition at an eisteddfod, and the note 'Barnwyd y Farwnad hon yn fuddugol yn Eisteddfod y Bala, 1836. . .' inserted subsequently between the title and text appears to confirm the suggestion.

An elegy to W[illiam] Hughes, [Calvinistic Methodist] minister, Llanengan, co. Caernarvon, and 'chwech Penill a'r Enllibwr', both submitted for competition at a literary meeting at Penycaera[u], 1867.

An essay entitled 'Henafiaethau Llanarth a'r Cymydogaethau' (the antiquities of the Llanarth district of Cardiganshire) written by 'Ceredig ab Cunedda', 24 June, 1875, and submitted for competition at a Crown Eisteddfod held at Llanarth on 29 July, 1875. Inset is an elegy ('Galareb') on the death of Benjamin Evans, Aberaeron, by 'Omega'.

NLW MS 12355F contains two engraved portraits of the Reverend Francis Hiley, Llanwenarth, and at the end of the same manuscript are some additional press cuttings mounted by Lady H. A. Robinson, relating largely to the death of King Edward VII. The outside upper covers are labelled respectively 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 1' and 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 2'.

A bundle of notebooks containing poetry mainly by Owen Lloyd which Sir Owen M. Edwards received from T. C. Jones ('Alonydd'), Liverpool. They contain miscellaneous 'englynion'; 'Rhiangerdd' composed for the Cemaes, Anglesey, Eisteddfod, 1870; 'pryddest: Crefydd, sef testyn cadair Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Eryri, 1879'; an elegy upon the death of Thomas Aubrey by Owen Lloyd; 'Pryddest: Marwolaeth Samson', 1872 'Pryddest: Rhyfeloedd y Groes'; verses: 'Melys yw hun y gweithiwr', 1872; 'Pryddest: Y Beibl'; 'awdl: Ffrwyth myfyrdod ar wlad Canan'; and a fragment of a poem entitled 'Elias ar ben Carmel'.

Transcripts and English translations by William Owen [- Pughe] of the 'Mabinogion' and other medieval prose texts, together with a few miscellaneous items. Most of the transcripts appear to have been made between 1826 and 1831, and the complete work was prepared for the press in 1834 but never published. Jones, n.d.), etc. The following note is to be found on p. 124 of item (c)1 above: 'Gorphenwn hyn, ganoldydd Llun, Myhevin 11. 1827 yn Athrova Iesu, Rhydyçain: y vi yno, pan oedd Aneurin yn çwiliaw cysysgriv [sic] o gyvreithiau Hywel Dda yno', which suggests that the transcript was made from 'Llyfr Coch Hergest'.

A volume containing 'englynion' and other poems mainly by Robert Davies ('Bardd Nantglyn'). Pages 1-60 are almost entirely in the hand of Robert Davies while the remainder of the volume is in that of William Owen [-Pughe]. In addition to the works of Robert Davies, some of which were published in his Diliau Barddas (Dinbych, 1827), the following poets are represented in the volume: W.O. [?William Owen-Pughe] (pp. 2-3), R. B. Clough (p. 86), W. Lleyn (p. 102), and ?Gwallter Mechain, [Walter Davies] (p. 125).
