Literary compositions submitted for competition at the Crown Eisteddfod held at Llanarth, Cardiganshire, on 29 July, 1875, viz. 'Can o Glod i R. L. Lloyd, Nantgwyllt, fel Tirfeddianwr', translations into English of a portion of the 'awdl' 'Molawd Ynys Prydain' by David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion'), and prose translations into Welsh of a portion of Act III, Scene 2, of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; together with adjudications by William Thomas ('Gwilym Marles'), Llandysul.

A volume issued, 1828, to the antiqury Angharad Llwyd, Tyn-y-rhyl, Flintshire, for the collection of subscriptions towards St David's Welsh Church, Liverpool, but utilised by her as a commonplace and autograph book. Verse and prose entries, 1830-1853, mostly of a religious nature, include autograph poetry by John Jones (Tegid), Thomas Price (Carnhuanawc), and Bryan Waller Procter (Barry Cornwall), and entries by Sir John Bernard Bosanquet, Lady Charlotte Guest, Augusta Hall, Lady Llanover, Henry Hart Milman, David Pennant, William Owen[-Pughe], Thomas Raffles, Henry Raikes, John Bird Sumner, and Frances Wrangham. Also included is a letter of address, 1828, to Angharad Llwyd from the Rev. Robert Davies, perpetual curate of St David's Church (f. iii).

Nodir mai gan 'Gwilym Llugwy' (William Owen, Betws y Coed) mae un o'r englynion (f. 7). Ceir ôl adolygu a chywiro ar beth o'r cerddi, sy'n awgrymu efallai mai gwaith un o'r sgrifenwyr ydyw'r rhai neillduol hynny = One of the englynion is noted as being by 'Gwilym Llugwy' (William Owen, Betws y Coed) (f. 7). There are marks of editing and correction on some of the poems, which suggests that these particular ones may be in the autograph of one of the scribes.

A pocket-book, 1829-55, of John Davies (b. c. 1804), Quarry, parish of Clydau, co. Pembroke, shoemaker, mainly recording names of preachers, with texts of sermons, at Pontgarreg, Cenarth, and other Calvinistic Methodist chapels, as well as at Association and other CM meetings, in counties Carmarthen and Pembroke, together with occasional references to family and local events. The volume also includes transcripts of hymns and other verse, and other miscellaneous memoranda.

Letters, 1850-1864, mainly in Welsh and mostly from Henry Jones (1824-1852), 1850-1851, who emigrated to Holland Patent, New York, in 1850 (see Y Cenhadwr Americanaidd, 13.12 (December 1852)), and his sister, Mary Jones (1831-1861), c. 1855-1861, who emigrated to Ballarat, New South Wales, in 1856, addressed to members of their family in Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, Merionethshire. Also included (ff. 39-40) are verses by Mary Jones, entitled Hiraeth am Fy Ngwlad, printed after her death.

Some fifty letters, 1837-1841, to Henry Evans ('Harri Ddu o Ddyfed'), secretary of the Cambrian Society, Cardiff, on subjects of Welsh antiquarian and Cymreigyddion interest; together with notes gathered by Evans and verses by or concerning him. The correspondents include Edward Copleston, bishop of Llandaf (2) 1838, Thomas Phillipps, Middle Hill (7) 1837-39, Thomas Price ('Carnhuanawc') (3) 1837, Rice Rees, Llandovery (6) 1837-9, and William Williams, Aberpergwm (3) 1837-39.

They include englynon by Clwydfardd, e.g. 'Ar ymweliad ei rasusolaf Fawrhydi Tywysog Cymru an gwyl Genedlaethol yn Nghaernarfon Gorphenaf [1894]'; 'Ir diweddar barchedig Edward Anwyl Cadeirydd y Dalaith Ogleddol', etc.; englynion addressed to Clwydfardd by Richard Parry (Gwalchmai) and John Cadvan Davies (Cadvan) (1891); copies of the proclamations of meetings of Gorsedd Beirdd Ynys Prydain at national and provincial eisteddfodau; a letter, [c. 1891], from Clwydfardd to B. Morris Lewis, Chelsea, giving particulars of nineteenth century national and other eisteddfodau; notes on the key to 'Coelbren y Beirdd', etc., by T. H. Three notebooks in the hand of Hugh Jones ('Erfyl') - (a) an account book containing board and lodging expenses, 1828-33, 1843-4, an account with the Reverend R. M. Bonnor, 1831-2, washing account, 1844, account of lessons given to 'Master Wm. Lowe', 1829-30, 1832, and 'Master Temple', undated, and a list of 'situations' held by 'Erfyl' during the period 1810-30; (b) a 'cywydd' in memory of Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr')' and (c) transcripts of 'carolau', or parts of 'carolau', by Hugh Jones, Maesglasau ('H. J. Senr.'), Hugh Jones, Llangwm, Ellis Roberts ('y cowper'), William Edwards, Ysceifiog, Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant'), and others. Used as cover and end papers for the latter are two copies of a printed notice of a meeting of the Llanfyllin New Friendly Society, 1816.

An album of 'memoranda, made to the year 1857', together with copious annotations and an index, by Richard Rees (born 1781) of Alltycham, Pontardawe, seventh child by the second marriage of Josiah Rees (1744-1804), Unitarian minister, of Gellionnen, parish of Llan-giwg (Llanguicke), Glamorgan. The volume consists largely of holograph letters addressed for the most part to Richard Rees, the writers including Josiah Rees, 1802-3 (relating partly to the church at Gellionnen); William Wyndham Grenville, baron Grenville, 1818 (a description of the writer's home at Dropmore, information concerning Neath Abbey); George Owen Rees, Guy's Hospital, London, 1846 (biographical notes on the writer's father, Josiah Rees); C[hristopher] R[ice] M[ansel] T[albot], London, 1848; C[onnop Thirlwall], bishop of St. Davids, 1848; Geo. Rice Trevor, aft. 4th baron Dynevor, 1838 (concerning Neath Abbey); John M. Amongst the references are those to the election and admission of Richard Rees for Morden College, Blackheath; the Smith family of Castellau, Glamorgan; the Penllergaer estate, Swansea; and the experiences of an emigrant to Australia, 1843.
