A manuscript entitled 'Llyfr Ofer Gerddi Margaret Davies 1738', being a collection of 'carolau', 'dyrïau', 'Penillion', and 'englynion' compiled by Margaret Davies (c. 1700-85?), of Coetgae-du, Trawsfynydd, Merioneth. An analysis of the volume ('Bannau'r Llyfr hwn ... by the scribe describes the contents as follows: 'Y Part Cynta or Llyfr sydd O Garolau Maswedd gan mwya. Yna Cerddi ar amryw fesurau Er Gofyn amryw Roddion. Ac yna Dirifau ne ddyriau Mawl merched. Ychydig Alar Gerddi. Amryw fasweddgerdd I ferched Ac ar amryw fesurau. Englynion'. A manuscript of the third quarter of the eighteenth century largely in the hand of Richard Foulke of Penygraig [parish of Llansilin]. It contains 'cerddi', 'Ymddiddanion', 'carolau', 'dyriau', etc. by Hugh Morris, Humphre Ralph ('Gwas Mr. Richards Person Llanvyllin, 1756), Jonathan Hughes, Edward Rowland, Arthur Jones (1758), Hugh Jones ('o Langwm'), John Richard ('or bryn côch') (poem torn away), John Griffiths (1757), Evan Arthur, William Philip, Gruffudd Phylip, Robert Edward Lewis ('o Gwm Mynach'), Matthew Owen and Rowland Vaughan ('o Gaer-gai, Esquire'), and anonymous poems; 'englynion' and 'cywyddau' by Ed[ward] Morris, Hugh Morris, Moris ap Robert ('o'r Bala'), Hugh Llyn and Jonathan Hughes; and a prayer entitled 'Gweddi cyn mynd i Gysgu ... Dyma yr weddi y bydde yr hen Richard Foulke o Rhiwlas taid Richard Foulke o Benygraig; ar taid yma ai Gwnaeth'.

An eighteenth century manuscript described in an inscription in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') on a piece of paper now pasted on to a fly-leaf at the beginning as 'Llyfr Siôn Philip o Dre os. Trioedd a phethau eraill', and the contents consist of transcripts of a Welsh poem in the form of a conversation between Age ('Henaint') and Youth ('Ienctyd') and a series of Welsh triads.

A manuscript in a number of seventeenth century hands, with some eighteenth century additions, containing 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' (of which several are addressed to the family of Wynn of Foelas, Ysbyty, Denbighshire) by Robin Ddu, Rys Kin [Cain], Ifan (Ieuan) Llafar, Edward Brynllys, Rees ap Robert, Rhisiartt (Richard) Kynnwal, Sion Tvdvr (Tuder), Owain Gwynedd, Howell ap Syr Mathew, Thomas Prys, etc.; 'tribannau' and 'penillion' by Ievan Griffith otherwise Y Tailiwr Llawen (1662), Rd. Edwards, etc.; 'The Gipsies Paraphrase found in the Eaves of an house in Shropshire ... 1616 and kept since by the Lord Lumley'; prophecies, in English, concerning the Civil War, etc.; a list of animal charges on armorial shields; 'Prophwydolieth Dewi; and 'Penillion' entitled 'Datcaniad i Mr. Dauidd Lloyd o flaunyddol'. There is at the beginning a descriptive note on the manuscript and a detailed list of contents in a nineteenth century hand. Among the insets are the certificate, 1885, of the purchase by George T. Jones from his mother-in-law Catherine Evans for a sum of 10s. 6d. of manuscripts belonging to his late father-in-law; an undated letter from J[ohn] Jones ['Myrddin Fardd'], Chwilog, to [J. H.] Davies (the return of a manuscript, a payment by Mr. O'Brien Owen of Caernarfon); and a pencilled note by J. H. Davies describing the manuscript as 'Llyfr Thomas Roberts 1677'.

A composite volume, 1760-[c. 1764], containing miscellanea mostly in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), including [?a copy of] a letter from Evan Evans, [1761x1766], written at the request of Robert Wynn of Garthewin, Llanfair Talhaiarn, giving a brief survey of Welsh poetry (ff. 3-4); extracts from Lewis Morris's notes on the battle of Argoed Llwyfein (ff. 5-6); 'Canu Urien', with a translation (ff. 7-12); a letter, 26 July 1760, from Will[ia]m Lloyd, Bangor, to [Evan] Evans, at Trefriw, containing a Latin poem (ff. 13-16); Welsh and English poetry, including one work by Evan Evans (ff. 50-78); and an account of a manuscript at Hengwrt (ff. 79-80).

Miscellaneous papers containing notes, lists, transcripts, extracts, etc., in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. Miscellaneous papers containing material in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. The contents are extremely varied. The section now paginated 137-64 appears to have been originally a home-made booklet with the present pp. 137-8, 163-4 (bluish, rough paper) as covers. P. 137 is inscribed 'Catalogue of Books at London, May 20th 1794', and is followed (pp. 141-55) by a list of two hundred and sixty-seven books and (p. 157) a list of Welsh manuscripts including those described as 'Byrdew Trebryn' (? Llanover B. 1, now NLW MSS 13061-13062B), 'Barddoniaeth Sils ap Siôn' (? Llanover B. 6, now NLW MS 13068B), and 'Marchog Crwydrad' (? Llanover E. 1, now NLW MS 13163B) (As Edward Williams was in London during the period 1791-1795, if the identification of the three aforementioned manuscripts is correct, it is possible that the catalogue is of Williams's books and manuscripts). P. 165 is inscribed 'Hints for a short exposition of the Prophecies relating to Antichrist' and is followed (pp. 167-83) by a short theological exposition of ideas relating to the existence of a 'trinity of Antichristian Powers', viz. civil tyranny, ecclesiastical tyranny, and human philosophy, a conflict involving these powers, and the ultimate triumph of a ? Christian theocracy. Other items include pp. 23-8, a list of Welsh manuscripts and of Welsh and English books with the superscription 'Catalogue of the Books & MSS. in this Box, Jan. 24th 1802 sent 4 sets Walter's Dict'y for Mr. O. Jones 14 Nos. Do. Mr. Williams, Strand, viz. from 7 to 14 inclusive. Notes are found written on the verso or margins of a copy of a printed leaflet advertising a performance of 'King Henry 4th' to be given by the Young Gentlemen of Cardiff Academy in the town hall in Cardiff, 19 December 1806, copies of a printed leaflet containing proposals for publishing Edward Williams's two volumes of English verse Poems Lyric and Pastoral, and the cover of a copy of The Bee or Literary Weekly Intelligencer, vol. X, no. 5, 1792.
