Studio portrait of a smiling GI, his arms crossed in front of him. He is wearing his combat jacket and helmet. Apart from his name the negative is inscribed 'R.E . Carms. This is probably a reference to their camp. The pentagonal shoulder sleeve insignia identifies him as a soldier in V Corps
