David Davies, Tre-boeth, all except four (1829-1832, pp. 178-209) written 1842-1845, with notes appended of where they were preached, 1842-1866, an index (ff. iii verso-v) and a few personal memoranda. Two of the sermons were preached at Foxhole, 1876-1878 (pp. 69, 200) probably by the Rev. D[avid] R[ees] Davies.

Bound into the volume (pp. 51-58) is a copy of an elegy by David Davies ('Dafydd ap Dewi, Brynyffynnon'), Rhybydd o Dragwyddoldeb mewn ffordd o Alar Gan ... Sara Efans, unig ferch Y Parch Daniel Efans, Mynydd Bach ... (Abertawy, 1822).

A transcript of the following correspondence: five letters exchanged between Geo[rge] Meares, Dollys [near Llanidloes], and Thomas Edmund Marsh, Llanidloes, 1844-1845, relating to Mr. Meares's inability to support Mr. Marsh [in an election] owing to a prior promise to Mr. Slyman, and the canvassing of Mr. Meares's tenants on behalf of Mr. Slyman in the said contest; and a letter from Thomas Edmund Marsh to Geo[rge] Meares, 1845, and five letters exchanged between Thomas Edmund Marsh and the Rev[eren]d J. A. Herbert, Glanhafren, Newtown, 1845, concerning the attempted removal of Mr. Marsh from the office of clerk to the magistrates acting for the upper division of the hundred of Llanidloes, and differences about the calling of meetings of the said magistrates. Supplementary notes relating to the incidents referred to in the letters have been inserted. The whole transcript is possibly in the hand of D[avi]d Davies, clerk to the aforesaid Mr. Marsh.

A volume comprising Cofnodydd; yn cynnwys Enwau Misoedd a Dyddiau ... 1822 with manuscript entries in Welsh by David Davies (ff. 8-31v); a journal for 1822 (ff. 38-83v) the entries being mainly in English and more detailed than those in the printed diary; and autobiographical notes, autograph poetry and miscellaneous memoranda.

Halsingod, accounts and medical recipes

A manuscript, said to be from the Dre-wen district, Newcastle Emlyn, containing (pp.1-41) eight 'halsingod' carols by David Davies [?vicar of Bridell, co. Pembroke, see Geraint Bowen, "Yr Halsingod", Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, 1945, p. 88]. Two of the 'halsingod' are said to have been composed in 1667 and 1672, but they were all copied between 1723 and 1727. At the end of the manuscript (pp. 315-323) are details of financial loans made to farmers [in the Crymych and Llanfyrnach areas of co. Pembroke] between 1777 and 1790. Also included (pp. 213-288) is a transcript of a medical work entitled "Pro Bono Publico the Sick Man's Companion or Dr Nevett's Mite to his fellow Creatures".
