Ymysg y tair cerdd ar ddeg a ychwanegwyd, mae dwy bennill gan William Samuel (tt. v, vi), ['Cerdd y Pren Almon'] gan Owen Griffith, [Llanystumdwy] (tt. 376-381), englyn gan Rhys Jones o'r Blaenau (t. 381) a phennill cyntaf cerdd [gan Dafydd Williams] (t. 382). Ceir mân gywiriadau ac arnodiadau ar tt. 5, 27, 111, 150, 182, 184, 202, 286, 358, 360, 367 a 369. Mae toriad papur newydd, 17 Ebrill 1928, ynglŷn â Jonathan Hughes wedi ei phastio i mewn ar. t. viii. = Amongst the thirteen additional poems are two verses by William Samuel (pp. v. vi), ['Cerdd y Pren Almon'] by Owen Griffith, [Llanystumdwy] (pp. 376-381), an englyn by Rhys Jones, Blaenau (t. 381) and the first verso only of a poem [by Dafydd Williams] (t. 382). There are minor corrections and annotations on pp. 5, 27, 111, 150, 182, 184, 202, 286, 358, 360, 367 and 369. A newspaper cutting, 17 April 1928, relating to Jonathan Hughes is pasted in on p. viii.

Gwaith Rhys Jones o'r Blaenau

A copy, made about 1788 by Cadwalader Pugh, of the poetical works of Rhys Jones o'r Blaenau. Though it does not appear to have been made from the author's holograph collection (Mostyn MS. 163), it contains most of the items included therein.The latter portion of the book was used between 1836 and 1849 as a commonplace book and contains material taken from newspapers, including The Christian Advocate, The Weekly Dispatch, The Shropshire Conservative, The Sunday Times, and particularly The Carnarvon and Denbigh Herald. The longer poems include 'Ffarwel Caerludd' by R. D., 'Cerdd y Myglys' (anonymous), 'Hiraeth am Feirion' by Owen Thomas ('Twrog'), 'Carol Plygain' by O. Williams, 'Pennillion Serch' by John Jones ('Talhaiarn'), 'Can y Crys' by Edward Roberts ('Iorwerth Glan Aled'), and 'Meirion i mi' by William Roberts ('Gwilym Aran').

'Cywydd Farn', 1764, gan, ac yn llaw, Rice (Rhys) Jones o'r Blaenau. Ceir copi arall ohoni, a ymddengys i fod yn llaw Rhys Jones, yn NLW MS 3059D (tt. 77-84), ac fe'i cyhoeddwyd yn Gwaith prydyddawl y diweddar Rice Jones o'r Blaenau, Meirion (Dolgellau, 1818). Ceir hefyd eiriau 'Carol Plygain', 1778, gan Evan Arthur. Ar f. 8 verso mae testun crefyddol aneglur (?carol) wedi'i briodoli i Robert Jones. = Poem, 'Cywydd Farn', 1764, by, and in the hand of, Rice (Rhys) Jones of Blaenau. A further copy of the poem, which appears to be in the hand of Rhys Jones, is included in NLW MS 3059D (pp. 77-84), and it was published in Gwaith prydyddawl y diweddar Rice Jones o'r Blaenau, Meirion (Dolgellau, 1818). Also included are the lyrics of 'Carol Plygain', 1778, by Evan Arthur. An obscure religious text (?carol) attributed to Robert Jones is included on f. 8 verso.

Some of the items appear to have been transcribed from Llyfr Ystrad Alun (NLW MS 7191B). See also NLW MS 1658B, which contains a reference (p. 66) to this manuscript.

An incomplete copy of Rhys Jones, Gorchestion Beirdd Cymru ... (Amwythig, 1773), lacking title-page, some preliminaries, and pp. 265-300 of the text. Y Rhagymadrodd (ff. vii-ixv) is a page-proof copy bearing emendations, possibly in Rhys Jones's hand. A mock title-page (f. v) and the missing text (pp. 265-99) have been supplied by Peter Bailey Williams (1763-1836), antiquary, together with additional poems by Guto'r Glyn, Hywel ap Dafydd ab Ieuan ap Rhys, Syr Lewis Meudwy, Owain Gwynedd, Syr Phylip Emlyn, Roger Kyffin, and William Llŷn (pp. 301-426), annotations to the text, and other items. Items found loose in the volume have been tipped in at the end and include Enwau ac ychydig o hanes rhai Beirdd gorchestol probably in the hand of the Reverend David Ellis (1736-1795), Cricieth (pp. 439-49).

A copy of Evan Evans (Ieuan Brydydd Hir), Some Specimens of the Poetry of the Antient Welsh Bards translated into English ... (London, 1764, ESTC T145881), bound with Rhys Jones, Gorchestion Beirdd Cymru ... (Shrewsbury, 1773, ESTC T116041). On blank leaves added to the volume and on the margins of printed pages David Samwell (1751-1798) has transcribed poems by himself and by other writers and there are also obituary notices of Welsh poets and others by Samwell, as well as press cuttings and a printed copy of Ode for the First of March, 1791, St. David's Day. Inscribed to the Gwyneddigion Society of London, by Dafydd Ddu Feddyg ([?London], 1791, ESTC T231564). Edward Williams (Iolo Morganwg) (1747-1826) has added some notes on Glamorgan bards.
