An incomplete transcript by Robert Vaughan of the Peniarth 20 version of Brut y Tywysogion with interpolations in the same hand from Brenhinedd y Saeson, followed by brief Latin annals: the death of Llewelyn, 1282, the rising of Owain Glyndwr, 1401, the death of Walter Barlee, master of Halston, 1442, the battle of Shrewsbury, 1403, the death of Owain Glyndwr on the feast of St. Matthew, 1415, the death of the Duke of York, the battle of St. Albans, the accession of Edward IV, the death of Alson Gwyn, 1429, the death of Robert Trevor, 1452, an eclipse of the sun, 1433, the death of Henry V, 1422, the famine of 1439, with price of corn at Shrewsbury, the death of Thomas Earl of Arundel, 1415, the death of Robert, bishop of St. Asaph, 1433, the death of Edward ap Dd., 1448, and the death of Ieuan ap Adda ap Ierwerth, 1448, [1612x1667] (pp. 1-16); together with a list of the barons of Dinmael in the hand of Robert Lloyd, surveyor, [17 cent., ?second ¼] (pp. 17-22); and extracts from the pedigrees of Gwynedd families copied out of the collections of Lewis Dwnn, [1699] (pp. 1-24).

Extracts in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), including the notes of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, on the History of the Welsh princes, copied from Sir John Price, A Description of Wales (Oxford, 1663) (ff. 1-53 verso, 120-122); material relating to Sir Thomas Wiliems and to his Dictionary (ff. 53c); and extracts from Antony à Wood's Athenæ Oxoniensis (ff. 55-66). The manuscript also contains poetry, the poets cited including Iolo Goch, Tudur Aled and Dafydd ab Edmwnd (ff. 97-119); etc.

Rough notes by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, on early British history; a list of Cumbrian Kings; British and Saxon chronology; the rivers of Britain; a list of Gwentian kings; notes on Welsh saints and kings; genealogies; a writ issued by Robert Vaughan, 7 May 1658, for the binding over of Richard Griffith ap Rees and Owen Morris of Llanddwywe, yeomen, to keep the peace towards Margret Evan of Llanddwywe. Many of the notes are written on mutilated letters addressed to Robert Vaughan. On the original covers, bound in at the end of the volume, is the incomplete text of a grant of an annuity issuing out of Y Towr Maen in Trawsvynyth from Richard Nanney of Llanylltyd to Cadwaladr ap Humfrey (ff. 95-96).

A volume in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing pedigrees taken from the manuscripts of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (pp. 1-95); together with copies of the marginalia from the Book of St Chad in Lichfield Cathedral, being some of the earliest known examples of written Welsh (pp. 113-126); etc.

A volume in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing transcripts 'From a MS. of Mr. Robert Vaughan of Hengwrt' (p. 1) and from Jesus College MS 2, including lists of rivers in England, Wales and Scotland (pp. 6-27); brief entries and extracts in Latin, Welsh and English referring chiefly to Welsh princes, bishops and saints, in some instances giving dates and pedigrees which were apparently gleaned from the Book of Llandâf (pp. 29-135); a transcript of 'Teir drut aerfa Ynys Prydain', with a translation and commentary in English (pp. 137-141); etc.

A volume in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) consisting mostly of commentary, by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, on Welsh triads, in particular the 'Keyreu'. The views of William Camden on various subjects and places are rebutted, and there are numerous references to, and quotations from, early geographers and historians. The text is apparently left unfinished.
