The letters, [?1897]-1925, give mainly personal, family and domestic news. They also give some local news from the Aberystwyth area and refer to events in Wales. A few of the letters were written during foreign travels.

Ellis entitled 'Teithiadur Cyfansawdd (V)' reproducing parts of the journal in translation, and another manuscript article, 'Deugain mlynedd yn ôl' by T. I. Ellis, [1964], reflecting on the forty years elapsed since the trip (9 ff.).

Ellis, 1 August 1897; six from his sister Annie, 1902-1925; eight from his nephew Tom I. Ellis, 1918-1925; and one each from his sisters Mary, 23 November 1918, and Lily, 25 November 1918.
