An account by Lord Rendel, prepared at the request of F. E. Hamer, of his political aims during the years 1880-1894 when he represented Montgomeryshire in Parliament, with special reference to his work in connection with education and the disestablishment of the church, together with letters from Lord Rendel and A. C. Humphreys-Owen to F. E. Hamer, 1892-1902.

Eight diaries, 1873-1880, kept by Stuart Rendel, later Lord Rendel (1834-1913), recording details of domestic and family life, together with references to the business relationship of the Rendel family with Sir William Armstrong of Newcastle and his family, particularly in engineering and arms manufacture. There are many references to work undertaken for the Elswick Ordnance Company. The diary for 1880 refers to Stuart Rendel's early activities at the House of Commons as the MP for Montgomeryshire.
