Expected Owen's answer this post to procure him one of the ?fields of Corrymor. He carried a tenant there but the priest is cross. Would send a man there without loss of time. Agree with the priest for his little improvemt and a guinea or two besides.
Tho[mas] Wills, Corke, to Humfrey Owen, esq. the Iland, Kerry,
Part of Powis Castle Estate Records,
Has Owen's answer to his requesting Owen to get licence of the priest for Florand Carthy. Is innocent of several things in Owen's letter of the 19th current. Did not know of Flor. Carthy's second time going to Kerry or Corrimore. His cousin Evans has a great kindness for him [?Carthy]. Did not drive or was not 'nye' any cattle on Corrymore and the priest is a liar that told Olden so. His arrears of rent.

As to the affair in Scotland: a number of gentlemen join to make a large deposit to carry on mines there and the mine at Leadhills it is said cleared £30,000 in twelve months. If true his proposal will not be complied with. As to the mine at Llangynog, he has made a beginning. Expects that 'our' money was well laid out if present output continues.

Part of Powis Castle Estate Records,
Paid farm for ore picked up at Llangynog £24 3s. 9d. Some trials in Mignant worth spending money upon. Should be glad if his lordship would fix the farm for copper ores: thinks the 8th ton in kind or cash fair.
