Court of record of the borough of Pool,

Records of the court of record (or sessions or small courts) of the borough of Pool. The court was held at the Guildhall, every fortnight, before the borough bailiffs, acting as justices of the peace. From about 1615 the court of record superseded the small or court baron court previously held in the borough every three weeks. The majority of the cases appear to have been pleas of debt with occasional cases of slander, some of the latter expressed in the Welshpool Welsh of the late 17th and early 18th century. The six surviving files include declarations, writs, pleadings, issues of pleas, etc., with many interesting details as to the fees and charges of the various officials concerned. The court of record's estreats, Michaelmas 1663-Easter 1664, are included in the court leet's files (MA 1829-1830).

Tempsiter court leet,

The manor, in the lordship of Clun, comprised the following townships: Clewilsey, Edicliff, Edenhope, Fynnon Vair, Hopebendrid, Llanfair Waterdine, Luckenhope, Mainstone, Menethesney, Hopebarris and Menutton, Obley, Purlogue, Pentrehodry, Rhugantine, Reilth, Selley, Spood, Trebrodier, Trevurward, Trebert [Skyborrah], and Whitcott Evan. Courts were held at the Court House in Clun. The records comprise two files, the Michaelmas leets for 1867 and 1872 respectively.
