Abstracts of (1) a lease granted in 1748 from Lord Windsor to General Thomas Morgan of minerals found upon the common of Blaen Rumney or upon any of the free commons or wastes lying in p's Merthyr Tidvil and Gellygare or elsewhere within that part of Sunghenith Supra and Suptus [sic] in co. Glam. called Supra Cayach, excepting coalworks in Merthyr called Tila dowlais and Toryvan which Robert Morrice of Kilvachvargoed claims by virtue of an assignment of a grant from William Edward of Eglwysilan dated 1696, wherein the life of Thomas Edward is said to be still in being, during the said Robert Morrice's estate and interest therein (2) a lease from General Morgan to Thomas Rees and David John in 1757 (claimed by William Lewis & Co. as assignees) of mines and veins of iron ore and coal upon the free commons or waste called Pantywain in Gellygare and, after the death of Thomas Edward, of veins of iron ore and coal in places called Tilla dowlais and Tor y van; also remarks thereon in connection with the claim of the Dowlais company to all the wastes and commons mentioned in the first lease.
