Opus 65: Gitanjali Song Offerings: Six Poems of Rabindranath Tagore for Soprano & Chamber Orchestra

Pencil score in five parts, [1995], titled Opus 65: 'Gitanjali Song Offerings: Six Poems of Rabindranath Tagore for Soprano & Chamber Orchestra'. Commissioned for the Llantilio Crossenny 31st Festival of Music and Drama in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and performed at the Festival by the Llantilio Festival Orchestra in June 1993 conducted by Charles Farncombe. The file also contains a programme for the Festival, 1993.

Opus 67: Three Songs for Tenor and Piano: Settings of Poems by Wilfred Owen

Ink score in three parts, dated 14 July 1993, and titled Opus 67: 'Three Songs for Tenor and Piano: Settings of Poems by Wilfred Owen'. The piece was originally composed to commemorate the centenary of Wilfred Owen's birth, and in memory of the composer's friend William Mathias. It was commissioned by the Fishguard Music Festival, 1993, in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and was first performed at the Fishguard Music Festival by Maldwyn Davies, tenor, and the composer.

Opus 66: String Quartet No.3

Full original ink score, dated 1993 and titled 'Opus 66: String Quartet No.3'. The score is made up of nine parts: part 1, 'Prologue'; part 2, 'Sonata'; part 3, 'Fugue 1'; part 4, 'Roundelay'; part 5, 'Fugue 2'; part 6, 'Scherzo'; part 7, 'Fugue 3'; part 8, 'Capriccio'; and part 9, 'Epilogue'. Commissioned for the 1993 Lower Machen Festival in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and dedicated to Julia Chapple, Royston Havard and the Lower Machen Festival.

The score is in six parts: part 1, 'I am here to sing thee songs'; part 2, 'When thou commandest me to sing'; part 3, 'It is the pang of separation'; part 4, 'Is it beyond thee to be glad?'; part 5, 'I have received my invitation'; and part 6, 'In one salutation to thee'. Commissioned for the Llantilio Crossenny 31st Festival of Music and Drama in association with the Welsh Arts Council.
Dedicated to Rachel and Thomas.

Originally commissioned by the Lower Machen Festival in association with the Welsh Arts Council. Written as one of a sequence of three works celebrating devotion to the Virgin Mary which include his Opus 56 (4/8) and Opus 58 (4/9 and 4/10).

Opus 58: Queen of Paradise: A Sequence of Carols to the Blessed Virgin Mary for Chorus and Organ (facsimile)

Facsimile copy of ink score with typewritten notes and handwritten lyrics in the hand of the composer, titled Opus 58: 'Queen of Paradise: A Sequence of Carols to the Blessed Virgin Mary for Chorus and Organ', dated 1987. Commissioned by the Cardiff Festival of Music in association with the Welsh Arts Council, and first performed at St Germains Church, Cardiff, 4 December 1987 by the John Davies Singers, conducted by John Davies and with organ played by Huw Tregelles Williams. Written as one of a sequence of three works celebrating devotion to the Virgin Mary which include his Opus 56 (4/8), Opus 57 (1/42) and Opus 58 (4/10).
