Volume IX of the series of journals written by Timothy Davis, covering the years 1847-1849. The volume had been previously used by his brother, David Davis, and contains copies of letters sent by the latter to Lord Brougham and others when his mind was deranged.

This collection mainly comprises the journals of Timothy Davis, together with miscellaneous papers belonging to David Davis, Castell Hywel, father of Timothy Davis, and also correspondence of David Davis of Neath.
