Royal performance

The file comprises a souvenir copy of an account of the choir's royal command performance for Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle in 1895. A typescript copy of 'The Rhondda Male Choirs go to Windsor' by John Davies is also included.

Competition record

The file consists of a typescript account of the competition record of the choir, 1946-1971, and the certificate presented to them on winning the male choir competition at the Semi-National Eisteddfod at Cardigan in 1957. A list of test pieces for the main competitions for male choirs at the National Eisteddfod, 1887-1977, is also included.

Translations

The file comprises typescript translations of songs, [1955]-1960, most of which were translated from German specifically for the choir by T. H. Parry-Williams. A few items include annotations in the translator's hand.

Manuscript and printed music

The file comprises the conductor's copies, [1946x1971], of manuscript, typescript and printed sacred songs, psalms, hymns, carols and Welsh folk songs which formed part of the choir's repertoire. A number of the works have been arranged by John Davies and a few, including holograph manuscripts of 'Salm 24' and 'Yr hen ferchetan', are arrangements by Mansel Thomas.

History of Libanus Chapel

The file comprises a typescript copy of the history of Libanus Baptist Chapel, Treherbert, by D. Pryse Williams, which was published as Canmlwyddiant Libanus Treherbert. Braslun o'r hanes (1949). Additional typescript notes are also included.

The file comprises a transcript of the log book, March 1863-May 1878, of Treherbert (Ystradyfodwg) National School and a list of staff, 1882-1937, of Blaenycwm School, together with extracts from the school's log book, 1882-1883.
