The file comprises correspondence and associated documents concerning licences from The Ministry of Works & Planning to carry out building work on the chapel house of the Charing Cross Road Welsh Presbyterian Church, London, and the resulting work done by Chapman & Davies (D. Davies). The papers include letters relating to the position of caretaker at the chapel.

Charing Cross Chapel: Trustees

The file comprises documents concerning the erection of the Charing Cross Road Welsh Presbyterian Church together with correspondence regarding the construction and installation of a new organ. The papers include copies of an agreement between The Soho Clerkenwell and General Industrial Dwellings Company Limited and the Rev. R. E. Morris and others, October 1887, for the building of the church and a copy of a conveyance of the freehold on the property between The London County Council and The Trustees of The Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Connexion, May 1889.

D. J. Jenkins, Deceased: National Provincial Bank Ltd and Urdd Gobaith Cymru

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence and associated documents concerning the estate of the late David John Jenkins of Porthcawl and a case relating to its distribution in The High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, and in particular a bequest to Urdd Gobaith Cymru which was conditional on the establishment of an Aelwyd, or Branch, of the Urdd in Porthcawl. The papers include photostat copies of the Will, October 1955, and the codicil to the Will, October 1958, of D. J. Jenkins.

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence and associated documents concerning a claim for damages and compensation brought by Robert William Griffiths against Moses Griffith for false misrepresentation regarding the profits of Direct T. T. Supplies Limited (including the National Milk Bars), Forden, Montgomeryshire, which lead to a subsequent agreement to transfer shares in the Company.

Dolaucothi Trust: H. T. C. Lloyd-Johnes and The National Trust

The file comprises correspondence and associated documents concerning changes to investments of the Dolaucothi Fund and the mis-payment of dividends by the National Trust to Major Herbert Thomas Charles Lloyd-Johnes. Mention is also made of additional property, namely Penarth Ganol Farm, purchased by the Trust in connection with the Fund. The papers include a copy of the deed of covenant and indemnity, April 1944.

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence and associated documents concerning a case of contempt of court, before the Honourable Mr Justice Lawton, against twenty two persons who interrupted the proceedings of a trial in protest against the imprisonment of Dafydd Iwan, as well as the subsequent appeal of twelve of those sentenced before Lord Denning, Master of the Rolls. Amongst the papers are two letters from Gwynfor Evans, M.P. for Carmarthen, regarding the case.

The papers include documents concerning comparisons and analyses of valuations, rents and costs on various woollen and worsted mills and textile factories, together with photostat copies of accounts for the years ending 31 March 1962 and 1963.

Nantgwyn Anthracite Colliery and Lloyds Bank Ltd

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence, associated documents and printed material concerning the receivership of, and attempts by some of the shareholders to stave off the subsequent sale of, the Nantgwyn Anthracite Colliery (1927) Limited, Cwmllynfell, Glamorganshire. The papers include a copy of a draft debenture, February 1927.

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence and associated documents concerning a case brought by Caernarvonshire County Council against Arthur Scotson of Pendyffryn Hall, Penmaenmawr, for the contravention of a tree preservation order by the felling and lopping of trees at Coed Pendyffryn, in connection with the further extension and development of the site as a caravan park. The papers include four black and white photographs of the area in question.

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence, associated documents and printed material concerning a claim for libel damages and allegations of slander brought by the Young Settlers Defence Fund of Kenya against Ronald W. Williams, M.P. for Wigan, regarding reported comments made by him during a speech delivered to the Fabian Colonial Bureau at Livingstone Hall on 10 March 1954.

The fonds comprises case papers, 1903-1973, dealing with interested parties within Wales and/or the London area who had some sort of Welsh connection. Included are papers dealing with land and property transfer, receivership and company liquidation, defamation and compensation, opposition to parliamentary bills, the settlement of personal estate, contempt of court and general legal matters. Not all of the issues addressed in the files actually resulted in court cases. The majority of the files consist of legal papers such as instructions and notes to counsel, briefs to counsel, opinions of counsel, affidavits, statements, declarations, summonses, claims and orders, often in draft form or as official copies, and solicitors' charges and bills. These are usually accompanied by correspondence made up of original letters and copy letters, both office copies and carbon copies, as well as handwritten notes and occasional telegrams, bills and receipts. Frequently, the files also contain associated documents such as copies of leases, agreements and deeds, plans and maps, accounts, reports and transcriptions of evidence, together with relevant printed material such as sale particulars, parliamentary bills and published reports.

The file comprises correspondence and associated documents concerning Ymddiriedaeth Ysgolion Cymraeg/The Welsh Schools Trust and the establishment of, and financial support for, Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain/The Welsh School, London. The papers include poor quality photostat copies of letters regarding a deed of covenant made in favour of the school by the actor Richard Burton, as well as copies of the Declaration of Trust, October 1961.

The file comprises legal papers, correspondence, associated documents and printed material concerning objections to Liverpool Corporation's Tryweryn Scheme by Bala Urban District Council over their concerns that it might affect the supply of water to Llyn Arenig-Fawr and consequently to the town of Bala and the surrounding district, as proposed in the Liverpool Corporation Bill 1956/57.
