Journal of a tour in North Wales

Journal of Rev. Henry Richard concerning a tour in North Wales, October [1847] (watermark 1842).
The volume comprises a diary kept during a week of sightseeing and preaching, travelling from Bala, Merioneth, to Llandudno, Caernarvonshire (ff. 4-9 verso), and including a copy of an englyn by an unknown author (possibly Richard himself) (f. 8), together with notes for sermons on Biblical texts which were probably delivered during the tour (ff. 10-26 verso, inverted text).

Gladstone on the subject of an Exchequer grant to the College (item 1); and a draft (or copy) of a letter, 4 July 1883, from Henry Richard (item 2) and of a statement on intermediate education in Wales, signed by nearly all the members of Parliament for Welsh constituencies, to be sent to Mr Gladstone (item 3).

Family register,

'The Family Register of Mary and Ebenezer Richard in which is inserted an account of their marriage and all the most memorable subsequent events of their lives ... Tregaron February 5th 1810'. The register, kept by Ebenezer Richard, is continued from the day of their marriage, 1 November 1809, to 13 July 1836, the day of the marriage of their daughter, Mary Richard, to Samuel Morris of Blaen-y-wern, Tŵr-gwyn.
