Family letters

This file consists of family letters, [c.1940]-[1994], sent to and from Menna Gallie and Bryce Gallie, including a great number of letters written by Menna Gallie to Bryce Gallie during the Second World War; letters from others to Bryce Gallie and two letters from Bryce Gallie to Menna Gallie, again during the War; letters from members of the family and friends containing personal news; telegrams sending congratulations to Menna Gallie, possibly on the birth of her second child; and sympathy letters to Bryce Gallie following the death of Menna Gallie; together with a copy of a memorial speech to Menna Gallie by Bryce Gallie under the title 'Celebration', with two poems.

Full Moon

This file consists of three drafts of the translation of Caradog Prichard's novel Un Nos Ola Leuad entitled Full Moon (London 1973), [c.1973]. One copy is in a cardboard cover, the other two are incomplete, one of which is out of order. There is also a handwritten page which is a draft of the translation of the ending of the novel.

Letters - various authors

This file consists of letters written by various authors discussing matters relating to Menna Gallie's work as a writer, [1959]-[1990]; the authors include, John Boyd, Frank O'Connor, Gwyn Jones, Dyfnallt Morgan, Mattie [Prichard], Meic Stephens and Gwyn Thomas. There are also two draft letters from Menna Gallie, one regarding corrections to her translation of Un Nos Ola Leuad, the other relating to the publishing of an article by her.

Miscellaneous notes

This file consists of various notes which are presumably ideas, plans and information for pieces of creative work, [1940x1990], including a list of cures for various ailments that may have been used for the play Adelina Richards (L2/1); a description of her experiences on the way to Yugoslavia; and a copy of a poem under the title '2nd Poem'.

Miscellaneous talks

This file consists of drafts and extracts of various speeches, [1940x1990], on subjects such as racism, the policies of the Labour Party, the doctors of Myddfai and witches, literature and the left, her experiences of the places she visited abroad, what Wales means to different people, and her experiences in Northern Ireland.
