Annual rentals, and one half-yearly rental, of the Rhosybedw estate, 1828- 1848, with accompanying statements of account of David Davies with Mrs. Anne Davies, Llwyn (for the period 1847-1848 with her executor, the Reverend R[ichard] Jones). Rentals of the Llwyn estate also are included for the years 1843-1848. A holograph letter from Anne Davies to D[avid] Davies, 1839, is attached to the rental for 1839.

Lewis, Ashton Vicarage [Bristol], etc., to David Davies, Froodvale, 1822-1835 (money matters and the recipient's management of the writer's two farms Cefntellch and Bryntelich [in Cynwil Gaeo], the writer's engagement as servant of the boy at Nyssau [Ynysau] Gate, the opinion of the writer's brother Thomas Lewis on a claim made against Evan John, a request for a supply of ale to be provided for the writer at Bryntelich, the commission and military service of the writer's son Charles, a gift of rum and gin to the recipient, the death of the recipient's father, specifications of a cottage to be erected for a labourer at Bryntelich, the marriage of the writer's daughter, a proposed reduction in the number of excisemen, rioting in the recipient's neighbourhood, the 'turbulent state' of Carmarthenshire and the Boroughs following the parliamentary elections [of 1832], the birth of a son [John Morgan Davies] to the recipient); and one holograph letter from George Horton, Ashton Vicarage, to [David] Davies, 182[ ] (a change in the political atmosphere with regard to 'our Question') (with an addition by J. A group of manuscript and printed papers, 1900-1903, acquired by John Morgan Davies, Froodvale, Llanwrda, by virtue of his office as high sheriff of co. Carmarthen, 1902. They include a transcript of the appointment, 6 March, 1902; correspondence from the Privy Council Office, 1900-1901; printed posters of Carmarthenshire Assizes, 1902-1903; a holograph letter from [the under-sheriff] D. E. Stephens, solicitor, Carmarthen; etc.

Thirteen holograph letters addressed to David Davies. The writers include Anne Davies, Llwyn [Llan-y-crwys] [1838] (the Brunant affair), Benjamin] Davies, University Coll[ege] Hospital, London, the recipient's son, undated (2) (the progress of the writer's medical studies, personal), and [Sir] D[avid] Davies [surgeon], Hampton [near London], etc., 1827-1848 (10) ( the recipient's management of the Rhosybedw [Llan-y-crwys] estate, the claim of Mr. Lloyd of Brunant [for the payment of principal and interest on a bond executed by Lewis Price of Rhosybedw], the writer's voyage to Malta, Mr. Morgan's reluctance to produce title-deeds [of the Llwyn estate ], a nuisance caused to the writer's premises in Llandovery by the erection of a school house, the writer's proposed visit to Wales, the visit of the recipient's daughter [Anne] to London). Correspondence, etc., relating to the appointment of John Morgan Davies, Froodvale, to be chairman and convener of the Provincial Committee of the Surveyors' Institution for South Wales and Monmouthshire (excluding Radnorshire). They include autograph letters to J. M. Davies from Julian C. Rogers, secretary to the Surveyors' Institution, from 12 Great George Street, Westminster, 1890-1893; a carbon copy of a letter from J.
