Correspondence 1964-1965, relating to the film rights in the short stories 'A Trip to London', and, 'Canute', 1967-8, by Rhys Davies; correspondence, 1967-9, relating to purchasing the film rights to 'A Visit to Grandpa's' by Dylan Thomas; together with a letter, 1968, from Emlyn Williams; and correspondence, 1970, relating to the transfer of film rights in 'Canute' and 'A Visit to Grandpa's' from the Dynevor Trust to his production company Richard Rhys & Co. Ltd. The Dynevor Trust had originally aimed to develop Newton House as a post-graduate and production centre for theatre, film and music.

I-1720, relating to Dynevor and the Rice family, some of them transcripts of originals then at Dynevor, and some of originals at the [Public] Record Office. Some are labelled as by Rev. J. G. Joyce. Includes letters from Rhys ap Gruffydd to Cardinal Wolsey, 1528-1531.

Scrap book containing newspaper cuttings mainly relating to Charles A. U. Rhys, Conservative MP for Romford, Essex, defeated in the 1929 general election. Enclosed loose are English and Dutch printed proceedings for the opening of the Union of South Africa parliament, 1923.

James Hanley, The inner journey,

Script entitled 'The inner journey, a play in three acts by James Hanley'. Much annotated, and including some inserted pages. 'The inner journey' (on stage in Hamburg in 1966) was based on the BBC radio drama 'Gobbett' (broadcast Oct. 1959).

Manuscript and typescript letters from James [Hanley] to Richard [Rhys], with a very few copy replies, including relating to 'The inner journey', 'Say nothing', 'The queen of Ireland' and 'Closed harbour'. Very few of the letters are dated with anything more than the day of the week. The few dates include Dec. 1961-Sept. 1964. Also an undated typescript pp. I-I-8 to 23 of 'The inner journey', and the donor's notes on the letters.
