Material connected with D. Elwyn Jones' political activities as a Conservative Party agent in North Wales and as a member of the United Kingdom Independence Party. Included are membership cards, 1967-1980, a number of invitation cards and programmes, 1966-1997, some papers specifically regarding his candidature for the Bangor south ward in the local borough elections, 1968, badges from Party conferences, 1972-1996, some election leaflets for various Conservative and non-Conservative candidates, 1974-[?1997], and a few Conservative Party campaign rosettes, [1970]-[1999].

Amongst the subjects covered are Wyn Roberts' decision to become the Conservative candidate for Conway, [1970]; D. Elwyn Jones' appointment as agent and secretary to the Conway Conservative Associations, [1971]; the theft of confidential files belonging to the Conservative 'Monday Club', [1972]; and D. Elwyn Jones' appearance on the television programme 'Mae'n Wlad i Minnau', 1985. The file also includes a large amount of cuttings showing pictures of adoption meetings, Christmas parties, annual dinners, luncheons, fairs, fetes, European visits, etc.

Elwyn Jones' involvement with the Advisory Committee of the Welsh Political Archive, including agendas and minutes for meetings, as well as copies of target lists, leaflets publicising the Archive's Annual Lectures, and a copy of a newsletter from D. Elwyn Jones, [1986], to Conservative Agents in Wales asking for their support in sending material to the Welsh Political Archive.

Papers arising from D. Elwyn Jones' work both as a lay preacher and the time he spent training for the ministry at Coleg Bala-Bangor, comprising three prayers, [1962x1970], apparently written by D. Elwyn Jones, as well as an essay he wrote whilst at college and a post card bearing his exam results, [c. 1966]-1967.

Television broadcasts,

Material connected with D. Elwyn Jones' involvement in television broadcasting, 1985-1989, and particularly his appearance on the programme 'Mae'n Wlad i Minnau', 1 March 1985, and a piece for 'Y Byd ar Bedwar' on the Plaid Cymru Conference in Denbigh, 26-29 Oct. 1989. Also included are some handwritten notes, apparently for a daily review of the newspapers, [1989].
