The group comprises papers relating to Thomas Jones's wide-ranging research interests, which included the early Middle Ages; medieval Latin; the legendary history of Britain, and the study of Celtic languages and Welsh literature.

The file includes notes for lectures for an Honours class on Gildas, the Brythonic monk and Latin author, and Nennius, the name given to the ninth century author of an early history of Britain down to the end of the seventh century.
