The folder includes a notebook containing lecture notes and her graduation certificate, 1945, from Aberystwyth University; scripts which she wrote for her work as Assistant Organiser for the Children's Hour for the Welsh Home Service, 1945-1947, and papers relating to the sale and restoration of property at 4 Castle Terrace, Llansawel, 1969-1976.

Correspondence

The folder includes letters to, and from, Mair Jones, including her successful application for the post of Assistant Cataloguer in the National Library of Wales, 1971; a list of contributors to a collection in memory of her husband, 1972, and personal correspondence.

The folder includes circular correspondence from the Association of University Teachers and the University Registry, 1943 and 1951; examination papers and related correspondence, 1948-1962; reports on candidature for degrees, 1962, and a copy of a letter of complaint, 1964, sent by Mansel Davies, Edward Davies Chemical Laboratory, Aberystwyth, addressed to the Registrar.

The file comprises notes on the language of Souvenirs D'enfance et de Jeunesse by Ernest Renan (1823-1892), together with other notes for lectures and essays, which Thomas Jones made whilst attending L`Institut du Partheon, Paris.

Literature

The series comprises notes on Classical, English and Welsh literature, including Catwg Ddoeth, the Black Book of Carmarthen and other manuscripts, and transcripts of anterliwtiau (interludes).

Catwg Ddoeth and Classical Literature

The file comprises extracts from various Welsh manuscripts containing transcripts of 'Cynghoreu Catwn', a Welsh translation of Dionysii Catonis Disticha de Moribus ad Filium. This manuscript was used by Iolo Morganwg as the basis of the wisdom literaure which he attributed to Catwg Ddoeth. Also included are notes on Classical literature, Roman satire and Lucretius.

Manuscripts and general notes

The file comprises transcripts of 'Cronica de Wallia' and other documents from Exeter Cathedral Library, together with a photocopy of a fragment of the manuscript 'Seven Wise Masters of Rome' in Trinity College Cambridge, and three notebooks containing notes on manuscripts and literature.
