Monitor's Book, 1857-59, containing a 'description of offences committed by students' ['not up in the morning', 'absent from evening worship' etc.] and any 'grounds of exemption' [e.g. 'unwell', 'tutor's permission'].
An album inscribed 'A Collection of Letters etc. by Thos. Lewis, Pontymister, 1883' compiled by the Reverend Thomas Lewis and containing over three hundred letters, c.1794-1898, from eminent Baptist and other figures to Thomas Lewis and others. Included are letters from Andrew Fuller (1815 (1), p. 16), John Jones, 'Mathetes' (1860-78 (5), pp. 43-4, 51), Richard Robert Jones, 'Dic Aberdaron' (1840 (1), p. 24), Edward Matthews, Ewenny (1856 (1), p. 37), David Owen, 'Brutus' (1845-55 (8), pp. 29, 33-4, 37), Henry Richard (1887 (2), p. 116), Eaward Roberts, 'Iorwerth Glan Aled' (1848 (1), p. 122), William Thomas, 'Islwyn' (n.d. (1), p. 52), and William Williams, 'Creuddynfab' (1848 (1), p. 122). The volume also includes autograph sermons, including two sermons in English, 1839-40, by John Jones, 'Ioan Tegid' (p. 70); press cuttings and photographs; memorial cards; and other miscellaneous printed items. There is a table of contents at the beginning of the volume with brief explanatory notes by the compiler. Some items listed are missing, notably two autogrcph sermons by Christmas Evans (p. 62) cnd letters from Christmas Evans (p. 17), Andrew Fuller (pp. 15-16) and C.H. Spurgeon (pp. 40, 45-6).

A notebook labelled 'A catalogue of books belonging to the Baptist Academy now at Pontypool' listing books in the college library, 1838 [almost 2,000 volumes, most of which were presented to the college by the Reverend Hugh Hughes Williams, Cheltenham] (pp. 1-38, 49-56), with a further list of books yet to be donated by Mr. Williams (pp. 40-4).
Manuscript sermons in English, 1815-53, by the Reverend Micah Thomas, president of the Baptist Academy, Abergavenny, 1807-35. A note by the Reverend Thomas Lewis, Pontymister, March 1855, at the beginning of no. 16 states that he acquired the sermons from the Reverend Micah Thomas's widow and bound them in four volumes.
