Loose notes and material relating to the Memoir. Includes original drawings and tracings used for plates in the vol.; notes concerning the composition of the vol.; lists of travelling expenses while engaged on the work; disorganised notes, largely statistical; newspaper cuttings and some miscellaneous material relating to lead mines; a 1" O. S. map of the Aberystwyth district on which O. T. Jones has superimposed the mines given on Absalom Francis's map of 1878.

Papers relating to subsidence affecting the Marlborough Mills, Oldham, Lancashire. O. T. Jones acted as a consultant to Platt Bros & Co., the owners of coal mines in the vicinity. A large file of notes, plans, and periodic observations made at the surface, dealing in part with the possible relation of the subsidence to the moisture content of the underlying clay; 1931-38. [cf. About two hundred snapshots and picture postcards of geological interest, including pictures of specimens from co. Denb. slump beds, illustration of sand experiments, and a large number showing geological features in cos Card. and Carm. Many are unidentified.

Folder containing a copy of what appears to be an essay under the title 'Central Wales'; another set of notes, also relating to Central Wales and to Edale in Derbyshire; notes concerning geological matters in Wales - 'Sedgwick's Journals' is written at the top of one of the pages suggesting that the notes are taken from the journals of Adam Sedgwick of Cambridge University, written c.1831, whilst on a trip in Wales (cf. MSS 32 and 35).

Folder containing papers regarding the history of the Teifi river and weir and its ownership, presumably in connection with the use of the water by an iron and tinplate company, including letters and research notes, 1958-1959. Also included in the folder is a paper under the title 'Statement - rainfall of north Cardiganshire', [c.1916]; typed article by O. T. Jones, 'The Characteristics of some Lower Palaeozoic Marine Sediments', reprinted from Proceedings of the Royal Society, 1954.

'Notes on Petrology by A. Harker.' Presumably the notes taken by O. T. Jones at Harker's lectures. The notes are full. 72pp.

Notes for O. T. Jones's lecture courses at Aberystwyth and Manchester. Except for MS 6, none of them constitute a formally written out series of lectures. The contents of the remainder vary between fully written out lectures and the roughest of notes. They often represent more than one stratum of material.
