MS and typescript (10pp.) of 'An historical review of geological investigation in central Wales' [c.1920]. Seems to be intended for publication but does not appear in Bibl. Covers, at greater length, the same ground as pp. 1-2 of O. T. Jones's Memoir [cf. MS 36].

These MSS were donated to the National Library in 1968 by Dr W. D. V. Jones, son of the late Prof. Jones (1878-1967). They came to the National Library via the librarian of the Sedgwick Museum, Cambridge, where they had lain since Prof. Jones retired from the Woodwardian Chair in 1943, with the comment that they were 'the residue of things he [OTJ] did not wish to remove'. It will be understood therefore that these papers represent, in general, activities and interests of Prof. Jones that he left behind, or had left behind, in 1943. Reference will be made below (in the form: Bibl., year of publication) to the bibliography appended to the memoir of OTJ by W. J. Pugh, published in Biographical memoirs of Fellows of the Royal Society, vol. 13, Nov. 1967. Arranged into student notes (MSS 1-4), university lecture courses, Aberystwyth and Manchester (MSS 5-10), university lecture courses, Cambridge (MSS 11-18), occasional lectures, addresses (MSS 19-29), research material (MSS 30-70), personal papers and correspondence (MSS 71-82), miscellaneous (MSS 82-92), supplement to list (1970) (MS 93), and additional donation (2000) (MSS 94-100). Unless otherwise indicated, it should be assumed that all items are in the hand of O. T. Jones.

Notes and material compiled by O. T. Jones while working on the Memoir [cf. MS 36]. Because on many points these notes give fuller information and more detail than the memoir and because the sources from which they derive may not in all cases be readily traced, the contents of these MSS have been fairly fully described. The relatively well ordered material has been gathered into MSS 37 and 38, which have been bound. [cf. also Portfolio A, nos 1 - 7.].

T. Jones 'The development of rural industries' [not in Bibl., source not named]; letters, or copies of letters, relating to the Rheidol scheme from David Davies, MP, H. J. Fleure, Sir E. D. Jones, H. J. Mackinder, MP, Principal T. F. Roberts, and Lleufer Thomas, all 1917; and report 'the probable flow of water in the river Rheidol', with copy of a covering letter to H. J. Mackinder and a letter concerning the report from Herbert Lapworth, all 1918.

Notes and material relating to river drainage systems [used in connection with MS 34 and also Bibl., 1924]. Includes statistics of rainfall and water measurements at Bryn yr Afr mine and Connach Leat, co. Card., for twelve months in 1913-14, and rough notes on the drainage systems of the rivers Claerwen, Clettwr, Rheidol, Einion, Dyfi, Severn, Tawe, Wye, Erme, Plym, and Cober, with relating calculations.
