Holograph sermon notes by the Reverend Simon Evans, minister of the Congregational churches of Pen-y-groes, parish of Whitchurch-in-Cemais, co. Pembroke, and of Hebron, parish of Llanglydwen, and Nebo, parish of Cilymaenllwyd, both in co. Carmarthen. NLW MS 11689A ('9fed Bregeth Lyfr Cymreig') was compiled at Tyddyn, parish of Whitchurch-in-Cemais, during the period 1852-1854, and NLW MS 11690A ('18 Bregeth Lyfr Cymreig') at Caeraeron, parish of Llanfyrnach, co. Pembroke, during 1873-1876.

A volume in the hand of D. Morgan Lewis containing short collections of Welsh proverbs, Pembrokeshire dialect forms, and equivalent Welsh and English idiomatic expressions; transcripts from Cylchgrawn Cymdeithas Alawon Gwerin Cymru, vol. I, part I - vol. II, part 2 (1909-1919); and a transcript of the beginning of a work by William Williams, Pantycelyn, from the holograph manuscript designated NLW MS 74.

Lists compiled by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') from the manuscripts of John Phillips, Glandwr-isaf, parish of Llanfyrnach, co. Pembroke, of sermons preached largely at Hebron Congregational Chapel, 1826-1879, and of Roger Grifiths, Kile (Cilau)-isaf; parish of Llandysilio East, co. Carmarthen, of sermons preached at Nebo Congregational Chapel, 1883-1887. At the end are particulars, also from a notebook of Roger Griffiths, of collections and disbursements at Nebo, 1883-1886. The lists have been recorded partly on the dorse or blank spaces of a printed National Memorial to the Right Hon. The Earl of Rosebery, K.G., Premier, 'for arresting the growth of European armaments' [c. 1894-1895], returns of March School Board, 1897, forms of Statistical Returns of the Sunday School Union, 1900-1901, and a printed notice of meetings of Marsh and Chatteris Federation of the Evangelical Free Churches, 1903.

An album compiled by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro'), Congregational minister at March, Cambridgeshire, etc. The volume is almost wholly of Congregational interest, and relates for the most part to Glandwr Church, Pembrokeshire, and to the activities of John Davies ('Siôn Gymro' otherwise 'Siôn Llethi' otherwise 'Ioan Llethi'), who was ordained minister of the church in 1827. The manuscript items include genealogical extracts in the hand of 'Clwydwenfro' (the families of Evans of Penywenallt, Jenkins of Pantyrlys, and Lloyd of Noyadd Trefawr, all in the parish of Llandygwydd, and the Reverend Thomas Nicholas of the Presbyterian College, Carmarthen, etc.); letters of dismission to Glandwr Church, 1738-1833 (one from Rhyd-wilym Baptist Church, 1785, another signed by M[organ] Jones, 'Ty Newydd, Treleach', 1833); receipts to Lewis Thomas [of Bwlch-sais, parish of Llanfyrnach, first minister of Glandwr Church] for the payment of rent in respect of the [Congregational] meeting- house at Reed y Ceised [Rhydyceisiaid], parish of Llanginning, 1738/9-1739; holograph letters to John Davies ('Siôn Gymro') from S[amuel] Griffiths, Horeb, 1836 (the distribution of 'Mr. Jones Cofiant'), Thos. and Mary Griffiths, Glynarthen, 1836 (an endeavour 'to bring things to a better order among us than they are at present'), Richard Jones, Llwyngwril, 1828 (the distribution of publications), M. Transcripts and extracts by D. Morgan Lewis relating to Welsh hymns and hymntunes. Much of the material is based on printed collections, but some is derived from manuscript sources in the National Library of Wales, such as NLW MSS 78A (holograph hymns of William Williams, Pantycelyn), 1932E (Welsh music collected by John Jenkins, 'Ifor Ceri'), and 1940i & iiA ('Melus-Seiniau Cymru' collected by 'Ifor Ceri'), and NLW, C. M. Archives MSS 5843-5901 (manuscripts of the Reverend John Hughes, Pontrobert).

Lectures on 'A System of Christian Ethics: or Essays on Moral Philosophy' transcribed by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') 'from an old volume of manuscripts bound together, and which had been bought in London, by the late Rev. D. Davies, Baptist minister, of Wauntreoda, Whitchurch, in the neighbourhood of Cardiff. Author unknown, and nothing to indicate whose they were originally . . . The manuscript was very old . . . but the handwriting was excellent, and it seemed in a fit state for the press'. The transcript was completed at Whitchurch, 16 January, 1864.

'The Welshman's Candle', being holograph translations by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') from Rhys Prichard: Canwyll y Cymru . . . (London, 1646). Some of the translations are signed at March during the period 1883-1887, and are written on the dorse or blank spaces of printed circulars, etc., of the National Education League, 1873 and undated, the Central Association for Stopping the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors on Sunday, 1882, and the London Missionary Society, undated, a printed appeal on behalf of a New Congregational College for Wales, 1862, a printed programme of a competitive literary meeting at Beulah [Congregational Chapel], Whitchurch, near Cardiff, 1867, a printed leaflet of hymns to be sung at the anniversary of Ivor Chapel Sabbath School [at Dowlais], 1870, a printed prospectus of Thomas Nicholas: The Pedigree of the English People (5th ed., 187[ ]), a printed undated appeal on behalf of a testimonial to the Reverend Thomas Rees, D.D., Swansea, etc.

'The Welshman's Candle', being a holograph 'free and correct' translation, with an introduction, by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') of 'An Exhortation to hear and read The Word of God' from Rhys Prichard: Canwyll y Cymru . . . (London, 1646).

Holograph 'specimens of translation' by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') of the 'Exhortation' contained in MS. 11692B. There are considerable verbal variations between the two texts.

Manuscripts, [1790x1937], by or belonging to, the Reverend David Morgan Lewis. The material is largely of Congregational or Welsh literary/historical interest and includes sermons and sermon notes; volumes of hymn-tunes and material relating to Welsh hymn-writers (including Ann Griffiths) and their work; lecture notes and essays; tour journals, [1889]-1906, of David Morgan Lewis; and an album mainly of Congregational interest compiled by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro').

An extensive register in the hand of J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') containing an annotated list of members of Hebron Congregational Church from 2 November, 1850, when Simon Evans accepted the pastorate, to 1902, and similar lists of baptisms, admissions, admissions by transfer, dismissions, exclusions, restorations, marriages, burials, etc., by Simon Evans during his pastorates of the Congregational churches of Pen-y-groes (1844-1856), Hebron (1850-1885), and Nebo (1850-1885). The volume was completed at March, co. Cambridge, 17 April, 1903. The lists are written on the dorse of a printed parliamentary voters' register for the parish of Merthyr Tydfil, 1872.

Lists of subscriptions received or promised towards the rebuilding of Als Chapel, Llanelly. The introductory appeal, signed by David Rees, minister, and others, is dated 17 August, [18]30. The volume also includes a list of 'Rules to be observed with regard to the Seats at Capel Als meeting house'; particulars of the receipt of pew rents; and particulars of payments from the 'General Collection', 6 November, 1830.

Holograph sermons and sermon notes by David Rees, minister of Capel Als Congregational Church, Llanelly, with occasional observations by the Reverend D[avid] Davies, London. The majority are dated, with gaps, within the period 1824-1854, and were originally preached at Llanelly. NLW MS 11677B opens with the author's first sermon, preached at Tyndwr on Dinasfach ('ar dir Dinasfach'), Trelech, co. Carmarthen.

A fragment of a volume containing hymns, of which one is signed 'Cyf. W[illiam] G[riffiths, Glandwr] Gor. 25, 1815', and an incomplete list of subscriptions 'entered into at Glandwr in support of the general subscription to clear off the debt on Meeting Houses'.

A home-made volume, roughly bound in parchment, containing transcripts of hymns and some sermon notes in the hand of David Thomas, Llwynywermwd, Llan-y-crwys, son of the Reverend Zacharias Thomas, Baptist minister, of Aberdyar, etc. The volume was compiled during the period 1805-1806. Among the papers used to compile the manuscript are an agreement, 1790, for the lease, from W. Williams to Zacharias Thomas, of Emlych, parish of Penbrey, co. Carmarthen; a voucher, 1797, to Zacharias Thomas from D. J. Jenkins, Lampeter, for a waistcoat, etc.; and a holograph letter from John Williams, Carmarthen, to Zech. Thomas, 1802 ( the distribution of 'papers' to the Association and the churches). The volume also includes the score of a hymn-tune entitled 'Difyrwch gwyr y Gogledd'.

A collection of eighty-three anonymous Welsh hymns and one English hymn, partly dated within the period 1825-1854. On the last page is a verse by [ ] Michael, Merthyr, 1852, invoking divine blessing on 'Derlwyn Farm'.
