The file contains publicity material and press cuttings of reviews of many of Bernice Rubens's novels, together with radio interviews with her, biographical profiles, articles by her and theatre programmes relating to her plays; letters, 1970-1989, from publishers, the Welsh Arts Council and the BBC mostly concerning her books, adaptations for stage and screen, legal rights and literary prizes, together with press coverage of the 1970, 1973, 1978 and 1993 Booker Prize for Fiction. Also included is a letter, 1992, from a Professor of Religion interested in Rubens's narrative style when dealing with religious matters, an article featuring Rubens dancing in the play Salome in 1947, and a press cutting of an interview with Rudolf Nassauer about his attempts to publish his book, The hooligan.
