They consist of letters from family and friends, and those which relate to his professional career as teacher and headmaster, including some regarding applications for posts and testimonials by, and for, Roland Mathias. In addition, numerous letters pertain to his literary career, in particular his work with The Anglo-Welsh Review and the Dock Leaves Press (including some statements of income and expenditure and balance sheets of the Dock Leaves Press), and as a member of the Welsh Arts Council and Yr Academi Gymreig.
