Correspondence, 1873-1931, mainly from the descendants of the Evans and Jenkins families [Daniel Lleufer Thomas's aunt and uncle], who emigrated to America from the Cardiganshire/Carmarthenshire area, c. 1869-70 [see also D2]. The letters recount the subsequent history of these families and the members still living in various parts of America. There are also two letters from Thomas Evans and Elinor Evans to Mr and Mrs James Rees of Aberdare, together with genealogies, photographs, a wedding card, an 'at home' card, a memorial card, obituaries and newspaper cuttings of properties in America.

Correspondence and newspaper cuttings, 1898-1938, concerning Daniel Lleufer Thomas's legal career, including congratulations from friends and colleagues on his appointment as Stipendiary Magistrate for Pontypridd and the Rhondda in 1909 and Vice-Chairman of Glamorgan Quarter Sessions in 1929, and letters on his resignation from these positions in 1932-3. Some of the letters are addressed to Lady Lleufer Thomas. The correspondents include Elizabeth Andrews, John Herbert James, Professor T. A. Levi, J. Herbert Lewis, Ellis Lloyd, T. Alwyn Lloyd, Herbert Morgan, T. E. Morris, D. Morgan Rees, J. Bryn Roberts, Lord Justice Sankey and W. Sidney Webb. There is also a small group of letters written in 1919 by Daniel Lleufer Thomas to Thomas Jones, CH, which was transferred to the donor, Professor David Williams, in 1942.
