Original manuscripts relating to the state of the Privy Purse, 1702-1710, when Sarah, duchess of Marlborough was keeper thereof: (i) 'An account of money paid to the Queen's own hands' between 15 June 1702 and 15 June 1705, (ii) accounts of the Privy Purse, 1705-1706, examined and found correct by the Queen on 22 Feb. 1707/8, (iii) a holograph letter of Queen Anne to the Duchess of Marlborough, 1 April 1710, and (iv) an account for 'Stayes', bodices, laces etc. submitted to 'The Rights Honble Countess Mallberough'. With the manuscripts are transcripts of all four, photographs of (iii), and letters to Edward Owen from Messrs Sotheby and co., 1934, when the documents were unsuccessfully offered for sale. English.
