Wales (misc. counties) : deeds and documents

A small number of title deeds and other documents found with the Gogerddan estate records, originating from various estates in Caernarfonshire, Flintshire, Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire and miscellaneous counties in Wales, 1562-(Watermark 1887) and two other series relating to estates in Carmarthenshire, 1619-1841, and Merioneth, 1568-1676. With the exception of the Carmarthenshire deeds, it has proved difficult to establish any connections with the Gogerddan estate

Wales and Herefordshire : miscellaneous county administration papers

Papers deriving from county administration in Breconshire, 1607, 1799, Herefordshire, 1641, Pembrokeshire, 1760, and miscellaneous counties in Wales, 1607-1638, 1859, in which official posts were held by members of the Lewis, Loveden, Pryse and Pughe families. Items of interest include a freeholders’ book for Breconshire, 1799, and a certificate describing the effects of a house fire at Kilpeck, Herefordshire, 1641.

Wage sheets

Mainly wage sheets of the Gogerddan estate, 1891-1903. The bundle also contains accounts showing the costs of calf pens, hay barns and Dutch barns, a summary of disbursements, expenses for building at Lodge Park, notices to quit, lists of lands in hand and tenants with allowances forfeit.

Vouchers recording payments made by George Morgan on behalf of Edward Loveden Loveden, 1780, for solicitor’s expenses, augmentation of the vicarage of Llan-gors, land measurement, property repairs at Llan-gors Mill and elsewhere,, and other routine payments; also letters by Edward Jones of Llandovery about estate affairs and Radnorshire politics, and replies by Edward Loveden Loveden.

Vouchers for trustees

Vouchers similar to those delivered to the trustees of Pryse Loveden, presumed to be part of the same group, 1856-1858. They record payments for building materials at Nantsiriol and groceries.
