Autograph letters from Dylan Thomas to Charles Fisher, [1935]-1947, together with photocopies and typescript copies, produced [1955x2000], of letters, dated 1931-1953, by him to various recipients.

Dylan Thomas letter and Elizabeth Reitell notes,

An unpublished autograph letter, dated 25 August 1953, from Dylan Thomas to Jean LeRoy, his literary agent at Pearn, Pollinger & Higham Ltd, in which he discusses the rewriting of Under Milk Wood. Also included is a page of undated production notes concerning Under Milk Wood in the hand of Elizabeth Reitell.

The file also contains correspondence, 1954-1986, mainly addressed to Daniel Jones, with two replies by him, regarding Under Milk Wood, including the recording of the BBC production of the play, permission to use DJ's music, and royalties derived from the work.

Script, 1966, (21 pp.), entitled '"In country heaven" an unfinished "poem-to-be" by Dylan Thomas', produced by Douglas Cleverdon and broadcast on the Third Programme, December 1966; together with a typescript copy, (6 pp.), of an article by DC, 'Young Aesop fabling by the coracled Towy', and cutting of the published version, 'Dylan Thomas - an unpublished poem', from the Daily Telegraph weekend supplement; and a letter, 1966, from DC to Vernon Watkins in which the former refers to the broadcast and article. Also included is a memorandum, 1963, from DC regarding the programme 'Portrait of Dylan Thomas'.

Script, 1954, (73 pp.), belonging to the producer Douglas Cleverdon, of the BBC production of 'Under Milk Wood'. Previously enclosed in a folder labelled 'BBC Script B2', it contains a brief note in pencil on the front page by Philip H. Burton.

David Wilson and Mervyn Levy,

Typescript copy, [1991], of '"But he's nice", a play on the theme of Dylan Thomas' by David Wilson and Mervyn Levy, including a photocopy of a letter, 1991, from Levy to Wilson, and 'Swansea 1925. A remembrance by Mervyn Levy'. A later version of this play, 'Spitting into the sky', by David Wilson, in collaboration with Anne Aylor, was performed at the Dylan Thomas Festival, Swansea, in 2005. Also included is a cutting of Mervyn Levy's recollections of Dylan Thomas entitled 'A womb with a view', published in John O'London's Weekly, November 1962.

Swansea Intermediate School exercise book belonging to Daniel Jones and labelled 'Ovid Translation. D. J. Jones VIA', [1928x1930], containing holograph school notes, poetry, and doodles, one of which may have been drawn by Dylan Thomas. The volume also contains some collaborative work, including a line in Dylan Thomas's hand, and a pencil draft of chapters of a story, possibly by both friends, written in the hand of Daniel Jones.
