Petition of Thomas John Lewis of Treuederid [p. Meifod], co. Mont., requesting an abatement of an amercement of 2s. imposed on him for non suit of court of man. Montgomery because he is an old and poor man and because he had previously been discharged from suit and service of court. Endorsed: 'Tho: Jo: Lewis ... petition for to be abated ... being noe freeholder but a poor old Man he sayeth Rees Morgan wort [sic] this Robert Lloyd bailiff must repaie me again the 1/lld. or 9d. 1/9d. given the poore man to discharg to Ro: Lloyd his demand but I question how it come due to be paied'.
