Index cards noting the Latin names of plants and flowers, with references to the Welsh names and source of information.
Lecture notes on various topics, many with Welsh versions, including 'Response of Protoplasm to External Stimuli', 'Mutual Aid in the Plant World', 'Social Characteristics of Plants', 'Light and Life', 'The Ecology of the Sea Shore', 'Gerddi Gwylt y Wyddfa', and 'Daeareg y Wyddfa'. The manuscript of a paper entitled 'Egwyddor Achos ac Effaith yn ei pherthynas â Bywydeg', is also included, together with a related letter (undated).
The group comprises correspondence, 1875-1946; diaries, 1880-1945; personalia and material relating to J. Lloyd Williams's memoirs, [1870x1945].
The file comprises letters from J. Lloyd Williams's sons, Geraint (26), 1907-1919, and Idwal (7), undated and 1923-1942, to their father.
Letters, 1877-1942, from friends and acquaintances, including a few, 1908, congratulating J. Lloyd Williams on gaining his DSc. One letter from Walford Davies, 1934, relating to a private matter and Y Cerddor, another from Sir Harry Reichel, 1910, and four letters possibly from G. J. Williams, geologist and antiquarian, are included.
Letters from J. Lloyd Williams
Letters, 1928-1945, from J. Lloyd Williams, many to friends and acquaintances, some of a personal nature and others relating to lecturing and the performing of Welsh music, in particular in relation to the BBC. Letters from 1943 onwards relate mainly to the proof reading and publication of Atgofion Tri Chwarter Canrif, Y Tri Thelynor and the Journal of the Welsh Folk-Song Society, and contain references to his increasing ill-health. Correspondents include J. C. McLean, [?1937] and 1944; R. E. Vaughan Roberts, 1944, and Jennie Alltwen (Mrs Bell), 1934 and 1938.
Entries relating to his work as a botanist are also included.

A few fragments and transcripts of diaries, 1880-1934. Some contain additional data to that found in the rest of the series and the transcripts may have been used during the compilation of J. Lloyd Williams's memoirs.
