Lecture notes relating to Welsh folk songs and folk tunes, including two series delivered at Bangor, 1934 and 1935, Coedpoeth, 1937, Llangefni, 1940, and a lecture entitled 'Neilltuolion Alawon Gwerin Cymru', undated but apparently delivered at Cardiff.

Press cuttings, [1921x1939], relating mainly to the history of music in Wales, including a series of articles on 'Are the Welsh Musical?', 1931, by T. Hopkin Evans; press cuttings concerning the 'Welsh Week' at the Wembley Exhibition in 1924; and lecture notes and quotations relating to the virtues of Welsh as a language for singing.

A few short biographical notes, mainly relating to musicians, compiled by J. Lloyd Williams from various sources; and other notes relating mainly to music in Wales, possibly including suggestions for items for Y Cerddor.

Notebooks, each containing entries, often sparse, of a varied nature. They reflect the wide range of interests displayed throughout J. Lloyd Williams's papers, but mainly relate to music. The subjects include the history of Welsh music, folk music, Y Cerddor and the National Council of Music, his own compositions and memoirs, broadcasting and education. Entries relating to botany are also included, especially in items numbered 23-28.

Adjudication notes on an essay entitled 'Rheolau Canu Gyda'r Tannau', submitted for competition at the Pontypool Eisteddfod, 1924, in which J. Lloyd Williams co-adjudicated with J. E. Jones.

Minutes and various reports, 1938, of the University of Wales National Council of Music. They relate mainly to the role of music education in schools and the wider community. Minutes of the Haddon Committee, October 1930, and the resolutions of the sub-committee held at Bangor, December 1930, are also enclosed, together with notes in J. Lloyd Williams's hand, apparently for a meeting in November 1931.

The correspondence mainly reflects J. Lloyd Williams's contribution as editor of the Journal and his involvement with the National Council of Music. The correspondents include E. T. Davies, Sir Walford Davies, T. Hopkin Evans, John Griffith (co-editor with J. Lloyd Williams of Y Cerddor, 1930-1933), E. J. Grutchfield, Hughes & Son, J. Chas. MacLean, Jennie Williams and John Jones ('Ioan Brothen'). Copies of letters from J. Lloyd Williams are also included.

Letters, 1920-1934, mainly from Sir Walford Davies in his role as Director of the National Council of Music. Some letters relate to matters concerning music at Aberystwyth College when both he and J. Lloyd Williams were on the staff but most, from 1929 onwards, relate to the editorship of Y Cerddor. A few related letters from J. Lloyd Williams are included, together with letters (4) from E. J. Grutchfield.
