Notes, in journal form, mainly concerning his activities as a collector of Welsh folk songs. Numerous songs, together with provenance notes, are included.
Typescripts of, and material relating to, a play entitled 'Y Deffro'; an operetta entitled 'Cawl Cymysg'; and the manuscript of the first scene of a play, 'Hwsmon Plas-y-Nant'; all apparently by J. Lloyd Williams. An untitled morality play in his hand is also included, together with a press cutting of his adjudication in a drama competition at Holyhead, 1927.
Personal financial accounts and papers, including some accounts relating to the sales of publications, broadcasting fees and lectures, and a few items, 1929-1932, relating to Bronant, his Bangor home.
Music manuscripts and papers, [c. 1750]-1945, including hundreds of folk songs brought together by Dr J. Lloyd Williams in his role as Editor of the Welsh Folk-Song Society, and papers relating to his researches into the history of Welsh music; material relating to his interest and vocation in the field of botany, 1871-1942; and personal papers, [?1870]-1946.
Numerous collections of folk songs and hymn tunes accumulated by J. Lloyd Williams before and during his period as Editor of the Journal of the Welsh Folk-Song Society, including material which he himself had recorded and items submitted to him by others.
