The series consists of probate records, 1666 and 1704, of other families, namely Griffith and Chambres, connected with Griffith of Garn but which lie outside the main groups listed previously.

Papers of general political interest

The series comprises a copy of a Chichester MP's letter, 1814, draft petitions to the House of Commons, draft minutes of a meeting convened by the High Sheriff of Denbigh, draft speeches and press cuttings, [c. 1826]-1897, concerning the Corn Laws, changes to the judicial system in Wales, heavy taxation on country landowners and the consequent decline in agricultural communities, the increase in manufacturing industries and competition from abroad; typed extracts from a newspaper, mainly concerning the General Strike, 1926.

Pedigrees and family history notes (Griffith of Garn and related families)

The series comprises a pedigree roll, other manuscript and typed pedigrees, extracts from parish registers, copies of tombstone inscriptions and genealogical notes on the families of Griffith of Garn, [1792x1809]-[c. 1900], Hughes of Cae'r berllan, [post-1810], [c. 1934], Maurice of Llanasa, 1838, Myddelton of Gwaunynog, [pre-1614], Price of Llanrhaeadr Hall, 1887, Roberts of Bryn y Neuadd, post-1713, and Wynne of Garthmeilio, Cwm-mein and Plasnewydd, 1843, 1880.

Plans and elevations (miscellaneous counties)

The series comprises plans and elevations of buildings and other structures, presumably on or near the Garn estate, mostly unlabelled, some with measurements, relevant notes and correspondence attached, [c. 1811]-1835.

Poetry, essays and other compositions

The series comprises original compositions and copies of works both published and unpublished, written in English, Welsh and Latin, consisting of poems, translations, essays and stories about contemporary and historical events and local figures, [1660]-1925, a script for a public address, [1834], and suggestions for a commemorative inscription, 1815.

Recipes

The series comprises recipes of various types: veterinary, 1730-1767, medical and cosmetic, 1759-1810, household and culinary, 1772-1808, and miscellaneous combinations of those types, 1725, 1769-1790, mainly manuscript, a few cut from newspapers.

The series comprises rentals for Cae'r berllan (Llanrwst), 1658, 1661, Cwyber (Rhuddlan), 1704, Cwyber and Garn, 1755, Garn (Henllan) and Cae'r berllan, [1784] (3 copies).

Rule books for court procedures

The series comprises a notebook of Richard Heaton of the Middle Temple, dated 1764, containing rules and orders, entries and case studies in common law in the court of Great Sessions for the counties of Flint, Denbigh, Montgomery and Chester, and rules of the court of Chancery for the counties of Montgomery, Denbigh and Flint.

School papers, certificates and appointments

The series comprises certificates and other papers relating to the ordination, clerkship and appointments of Hugh Hughes of Weeg, 1746, and members of the Griffith family, namely Robert Griffith, George Griffith, 1811-1834, and William Douglas Wynne Griffith , 1915-1920, and a roll of Ruthin school which includes two of the Griffith children, 1803.
