This series comprises press cuttings and a few other papers relating to Lloyd George assembled by Dr Thomas Jones, presumably while researching the biography published in 1951.
The series comprises correspondence and papers, 1962-1987, relating to the Dr Thomas Jones CH Papers in the custody of the National Library of Wales. They include material concerning the arrangement and listing of the papers by Professor Gwyn A. Williams in the early 1960s, the use of the papers by academics and authors, the preparations for the publication of the Whitehall Diary, 1969-1972, a draft of the unpublished biography of Thomas Jones written by Trevor Williams in the early 1970s, and the donation of the papers to the National Library in 1984 by Lady White and Mr Tristan Jones.
The series consists of press cuttings, 1912-1955, many relating to Thomas Jones or consisting of press articles and reviews written by Thomas Jones. Some refer to national and political events. There are also a number of obituaries and press tributes. Some of the later cuttings refer to the political career of Eirene White. The series comprises Thomas Jones's pocket diaries, 1923-1953, bearing mainly notes of appointments, engagements and other miscellaneous notes and minutiae; an address book, [1935]-[1955], kept on behalf of Thomas Jones; his pocket notebooks, [1900]-[1955]; and typescript texts of his full diaries, 1916-1930 and 1942, clearly prepared in readiness for the publication of Whitehall Diaries.
